All 8 points I gave this drama are because of Kim Yoo-jung’s acting. What a phenomenal performance.

Of all the roles I’ve seen her in, this has to be her best yet. She should have received far more nominations and wins for this performance because she was absolutely stunning.

Among the child actors who grew up and transitioned into lead roles around the same time, she seems to be the one who has truly mastered the craft. She’s amazing. I hope her next role will be even more interesting.

I really had a good time watching this. I think it is the first drama of 2026 that I didn’t really fast forward because I was bored and wanted it to end. It started on a high note and ended just like that. There was no unnecessary tragedy besides what happened in the past and there was no unnecessary breakup. the breakup that occurred was expected but things were tied up beautifully well. I am glad I decided to watch it.

I mainly watched it for Shin Hae-sun. At this point, it feels like many K-dramas follow the same formula. You can already predict how the story will go, and that sense of novelty is starting to disappear.

It was still a decent way to pass the time, and Shin Hae-sun is always a delight to watch. She never disappoints.

I usually like slow, melancholic dramas, but even this one is too melancholic for me. I am bored out of my mind.

I think I will be dropping it. Definitely not for me.

or

I’ll let it play in the background while I work and see if it catches my attention.

Not to be that person, but the world doesn’t revolve around that movement. đŸ«
I don’t think so.

There are countless crises and injustices happening around the world beyond Palestine. Millions of people are living in poverty, caught in wars, displaced from their homes, or suffering under governments and systems far bigger than themselves. But somehow, Palestine has become the issue people use to judge everyone else’s morality.

It has also become a convenient excuse for online harassment. People are not encouraging meaningful conversations, it has become a tool for people demanding that others prove they care enough, and if they don’t respond the “right” way, they’re attacked for it.

The world is much bigger than a single issue. If people showed the same level of passion and outrage for other humanitarian crises, I would probably take it more seriously.

I roll my eyes whenever I see another boycott campaign tied to Palestine because the same energy doesn’t exist for other issues. Where are the mass boycotts over what’s happening in Congo and the exploitation tied to the minerals that power our phones, laptops, and electric vehicles? Where are the constant campaigns about Sudan, Yemen, Myanmar, the Uyghurs in China, or the conflict in Ethiopia?

And if we are being realistic, people are still going to drink Coke, shop on Amazon, buy from Shein, and use countless other major companies that get targeted by these campaigns. It’s not like there are alternatives that could realistically cater to everyone at the same scale. We should at least be honest about that reality and hope things improve rather than acting as though “canceling” brands is going to solve complex global problems. A lot of it is performative, more about making people feel a little better about themselves than creating meaningful change.

If the concern was truly universal, the same level of pressure, awareness, and activism would exist across the board.

when i first watched this drama, i didn’t like chen yu at all, because i felt he maltreated his wife and was emotionally detached, but I understand him better now and zhong Xiaoqin was a lot to handle. Her mum’s interference is too much and chen yu didn’t communicate well with her either. But he really was going through a lot. He should have communicated better instead of always reacting. That was his fault.

I would say men insecurity versus women willpower.
I understand the examples you’re pointing to, and I agree that double standards can exist. Male victims of abuse should absolutely be taken seriously, and there are situations where society is more sympathetic toward women than men.

Where I disagree is the idea that this means women have somehow become the more privileged group or that “toxic femininity” is now a greater issue than the inequalities women still face.

Even in many Western countries, women continue to experience higher rates of sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking, and harassment. According to data from organizations such as the WHO and UN Women, roughly 1 in 3 women globally experience physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. In the UK and the US, women are also significantly more likely to be victims of sexual assault and intimate partner homicide than men. Just recently, there were cases of teenage boys receiving relatively light sentences after sexually assaulting girls, including incidents involving coercion and recorded evidence.

We also still see institutional issues. Women remain underrepresented in positions of political and corporate power, perform a disproportionate amount of unpaid caregiving work, and continue to face barriers related to reproductive rights and healthcare in various countries.

Beyond the West, the situation is even more severe. Millions of girls still face child marriage, restrictions on education, legal discrimination, honor-based violence, and limitations on basic freedoms. In places such as Afghanistan, women have seen their rights to education, employment, and public participation dramatically restricted in recent years.

So while some of the examples you mentioned may reflect genuine social biases that deserve discussion, I don’t think they are comparable in scale to the challenges women continue to face globally, and certainly not a reason to abandon feminism in favor of focusing primarily on “toxic femininity.”

As for women saying “I hate men,” I don’t personally support blanket statements about any group. But I think you’d agree that many of those statements are often rooted in experiences of harassment, abuse, discrimination, or fear. That doesn’t automatically make them acceptable, but it does provide context that is often missing from the conversation.

I don’t think the solution is to replace discussions about women’s issues with discussions about “toxic femininity.” We can acknowledge harmful behavior by women when it occurs while also recognizing that gender inequality remains a very real issue for women around the world.

I honestly feel like I wasted my time watching this. I’m not a fan of how it ended at all.

What do you mean she ended up working with the same two-faced people who betrayed and sabotaged her right from the beginning? That made absolutely no sense to me.

And how did no one think of using Phantom Knight to save her company, but somehow it was used to save the very company responsible for their downfall? Out of everything that happened, that’s probably what annoyed me the most. There were basically no real repercussions for what they did, just a happy ending handed to them.

The constant push and pull between the leads until the very end was frustrating too. I genuinely don’t understand how they could remain so involved in each other’s lives for so long and still have the ML acting terrified of commitment.

The only ending that made even a little sense to me was Zhou Mei’s. Everyone else’s storyline felt like pure rage bait.

Gu yan’s lack of boundaries and professionalism is outstanding. His girlfriend is also ridiculous. and Lanxin should focus more on growing her own people instead of destabilizing other people’s work

Not when there is still a lot of injustices done to women around the world. We need to look beyond our vicinity and think of other women not yet liberated. There is no toxic feminism when there is still so much to fight for. Men are still up there getting away with things they shouldn’t

watching this drama made me realize that you don’t need a long time to convince viewers about the emotional depth you are trying to portray, you just need to do it well. 1ep in and i can feel it all.

This was a good drama, but definitely not my kind of drama. The acting was great but
It is just too sad for my liking. The son was pretty annoying too till the end. But all of that abuse and suffering was too much. I don’t enjoy things like that. I don’t like the storyline either but I kept watching just because the acting was great. so great job to the actors

I think this is my favorite Kdrama this year- so far. I have been constantly disappointed in all of them, but this was amazing. Acting, production, everything!
I have to say Park Eun Bin is a fantastic actor. She has performed beautifully well in this again. A consistent queen đŸ”„

I love you IU, but this genuinely has to be the worst thing of yours I’ve watched.

I just finished watching one of the most beautiful c-dramas about young adults figuring life out, finding love, making mistakes, and learning how to move forward, so imagine how bad this had to feel for me to switch to this immediately after. IU’s characterization here feels like a mix of her real-life idol persona and a watered-down version of Jang Man Wol from HDL, and it just does not come together well.

The Queen Mother is hateful for no clearly established reason, and worse, she is not even tactical about it. Prince Ian supposedly had a crush on IU’s character, yet rejected her several times and even pretended not to know who she was at the beginning. The drama introduces a monarchy and governing system, but never properly establishes how that world actually functions. Every major conflict somehow comes down to someone starting a fire. IU’s character supposedly wants status, even though she lacked nothing except her father’s affection, which honestly was not enough to justify the obsession with power and status they tried to portray, as she was successful regardless of her status as commoner, perhaps it’s on the writer for not adequately showing us how she lacked.

Then they sprinkle in a few falling-and-catching moments, prolonged staring scenes, and suddenly we are supposed to believe they are deeply in love. Prince Ian wants to abolish the monarchy, yet there is no properly developed reason behind that goal because the monarchy versus modern government dynamic is barely explored in the first place. And if he truly wanted to abolish the monarchy, why would he intentionally marry someone obsessed with status and royal positioning?

The characters are painfully inconsistent. One moment Ian can stand up to the Queen Mother with authority, the next moment he suddenly becomes completely submissive and powerless around her depending on what the scene needs. Nothing feels earned emotionally or politically because the writing keeps bending characters to force drama instead of building believable motivations.

It honestly feels like the production team relied heavily on the star power of IU and Byeon Woo Seok instead of putting real effort into developing the characters and worldbuilding. And before people misunderstand me, I’m saying this as a genuine fan. For three years straight IU topped my Spotify Wrapped, and during Spotify’s 20-year celebration she was revealed as my most streamed artist of all time since 2020. So this is absolutely not coming from a place of hate. I just know she is capable of far better script choices than this.

With the amount of controversy already surrounding this drama, I honestly hope she is more careful with script selection moving forward because this whole thing felt extremely juvenile. A drama can still be light, cute, and have happy endings without the plot feeling this shallow and underdeveloped. We are in 2026 for goodness’ sake.

I love this drama so much; I always cry at the end. It feels so realistic, just like everyday life over the course of a few years. I love Shen Si Yi and Lu Ke so much. I usually never rewatch dramas, but here I am, watching this one again. I hope there are more dramas like this.

Dropped at ep 7. I really tried to get into it for wang churan, but I am not a fan of transmigration or alternate worlds, so I just found myself miserable watching this and had to drop it. I will be looking forward to her other projects but this is not it for me unfortunately.
