What can I even say about Winter Begonia that could accurately describe how it feels while watching it and after finishing it?One of the BEST cdramas of all time for me. And I'm also gonna call it one if the BEST BLs of all time because it genuinely does the most I've ever seen in a censored cbl adaptation.
6 years later, I can't believe this drama is still so underrated. It may not be for everyone, but I genuinely believe, everyone can give it one chance.
This show changed my life LITERALLY, because I started seriously learning Mandarin after this show. Shows you just how impactful it can be for some people.
Now coming to the acting, most of the actors are veterans in the c entertainment industry and it SHOWS. Tan Jian Ci and Yin Zheng being some of the few actors with lesser experience under their belt.
Yin Zheng as Shan Xirui is truly magical to watch. He's SUCH a BRILLIANT NATURAL actor. I absolutely adore the lengths to which he went in order to BE Shang Xirui (gained weight, learning chinese opera, etc.).
In conclusion, please give it a chance if you genuinely care about great storytelling, great music, great acting, and experiences that can absolutely reshape your life 😭.

Best BL of 2025... To me!
An absolute masterpiece.Although the actors were newbies, their acting was extremely impressive. And the CHEMISTRY, oh GOD. It was PERFECTION.
Also a HUGE round of applause for the casting team.
Everything was so well done, and the ending was extremely satisfying too. It showcased Thai culture and religion in a way I never expected.
In short, I would be following all future works of the main and side couples as well as their solo works. The show and the actors deserve every single praise.
If you want a very unique very beautiful, genuine and heartfelt love story, all packaged with brilliant production and sound design, goosebumps and tears-inducing music, you MUST give Khemjira a chance!
