In the manhwa and novel, Fu Shize (ML) is considered more handsome than Duan Jiaxu and Sang Yan. Choosing Lin Yi for this role feels quite close to the manhwa version. As for the FL (Yun Li), if you’ve read the manhwa, in my opinion Tian Xiwei suits the role of Yun Li better. However, they chose Lu Yuxiao, and that’s fine—the casting director must know better. No hate toward LYX; she is pretty, but she doesn’t really match the manhwa version. But when Zhang Ruonan was cast as Wen Yifan in the first frost, despite some objections from fans, it was eventually proven that Zhang Ruonan is the most fitting Wen Yifan... hopefully lyx as yunli is as success as zhang ruonan too!
I think the university filming locations for these shows are the same.
Sang Yan and Wen Yifan crossed paths with Fu Shize in the extra parts of The First Frost (novel-only). They accidentally met at a supermarket, and Sang Yan was a little jealous because Wen Yifan “stared at Fu Shize for too long.” In the Zhu Yi universe, Fu Shize is considered more handsome than both Sang Yan and Duan Jiaxu.
