you're right,she has her method of writing but zhuang xu is too toxic and too stiff a character, also lacks serious emotional intelligence, I guess she did it for dramatic effect.

the speculation was based off of the novel, from what I heard,GU man the writer made changes in it,the ML character here could have been SML and the SML character could have been ML,that being said,if not for the changes,it could have been a toxic Male lead trope.
