I am in the middle of the episode but I am like now 50-60% sure its a 7 deadly sins thing. So far the clearest…
I agree with you. In intro there is written name "despair" (probably as an overarching feeling) and then all the other ones "greed", "wrath", "pride", "vanity", "sloth", "gluttony" and "lust". And then there are those items for each country - money, rotten apple and others which I can't all remember now, but they very likely are hinting at that sin they might represent. And then the missions also doing the same.
Maybe that's why kiDnap GAME has that capital D - meaning "despair"? As "the game of despair"?
This might be one of the worst cdramas i have watched. And i went in with high expectations because of the rating.…
I am currently watching this (16/24), but only for DYX. I kind of like its lightness and I wouldn't call it the worst one ever, but I agree that this isn't an 8.5 drama. So, I wonder what aspect everyone was voting for so highly.
I wouldn't call that rape. They were drunk, and she took the initiative with an inexperienced guy, but there was…
Thank you for your insight on the topic, but I will not discuss this further with someone who calls another person stupid just because they have a different opinion on one particular scene.
I wouldn't call Madam Yu and Jingxiu's ending happy, to be fair. They had their peaceful ending maybe, but not a happy one in the general sense. She kind of lost her mind, getting stuck in the moment she found Tingyun to be a wife for her son, which means she will never be able to use her sharp mind properly again. And he became a humble post worker, whom all the ladies gossiped about for being from a disgraced family, and got stuck with his mother for the rest of his life. And I don't think any lady would want to marry him. Also, their family is forbidden to take those scholarly exams for generations, so anything Madam Yu is trying to teach Ji won't ever be used to raise their status. That ending was very good, in my opinion, and far better than killing them.
I am only sad that Ji had to stay with them, because he didn't have any other fault besides being born into that family.
the verified rating is a low 6.88 which is not normal for a 8.6 drama.
Well PoJ who is 9.1 on MDL got 6.4 on Douban. They are pretty harsh. I watched Archives: The Nanyang Mystery and they are also 8.6 atm on MDL, but Douban gave them 6.7.

Maybe the reason for that is what few others here have mentioned - that Haixia also had heart on the right side, which means Hailou's stab wasn't lethal. But that's just a maybe, because I don't know any lore of this universe.

The guy seemed more shy about that than regretful, and I think he fell in love with her after that night. For me, it definitely wasn't rape. Maybe the author of the comment thought it was rape because that lady, in general, was using men for sexual pleasure (they mentioned that), but none of that was shown to us. And I think they actually liked each other. There were some signs in previous events that their reactions could be read like that.
