The only drama I have ever felt compelled to write a review for…
I just finished this masterpiece and I just want to convey what this drama means to me.Not many BL dramas have ever really acknowledged what being gay means to a certain part of society. And when dramas do try to put attention to this they usually either just brush up on it in one singular episode or they make religion seem like an inherently homophobic thing.
Ticket to Heaven acknowledges the flaw of homophobia in the Catholic religion but does not undermine or bash the religion itself. A lot of people like to think you cannot comfortably be gay and be religious, but that is just wrong. I absolutely appreciate that despite the struggles our leads experience with their identity they do not abandon their faith but just change their perspective on what their faith means.
This drama was a story about acceptance and not abandoning religion.
