On the side note, since watching this, I cannot hear “Back To December” the same again😭😭. Hey, if anyone of you make cdrama edits, you should make one using this song! It’s so heartbreaking!
Do you think they are going to show what happened with Ren Susu after she fell out of train? Like how did she survive and make it back to south city? Who even trained her to become Fang Mulan? I hope they show an episode explaining that!
Sooooo……idk about you guys. But I am low key worried for the end. Like…..why do I get this feeling Ren Susu is going to die at the end and Qingyi is going to be left alone to raise their child? Based on Reuters they obviously have a kid, but many of them are with Qingyi and him. I hardly see any with her. Soooo….ya, I’m kinda worried about this ending. Also, those who have read the leaked script, I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone have any idea as to how this will end? I feel like they will solve the Huo family within the next 10 episodes, then there is going to be another catastrophe they need to work together for the rest. I saw an interview that ZHL said they have one final dance before they go off to die. Like seeing that, makes me want to die inside…..
Has anyone read the leaked script? I keep seeing posts or have heard of people getting the script. I know ZHL talked about 2 different endings. Do you think this will be happy or sad? Like they have a kid together but……it’s gotta be one or the other if they kill one of the leads. But I’m hoping not
Is this going to be another Fireworks of my heart where the drama just gets bombarded with negative reviews just for the sake of it? Because it seems like it’s going that way. I don’t want WCR reputation to be ruined again, she doesn’t deserve the negative hate. If anything give all the hate to the director haha! Also, if a drama is hated so bad, can they stop broadcasting it and remove it?
So, I am super happy with overdo? Maybe I’m in the 25th percentile of people that actually like it? But help me understand why it’s getting so much hatred? I get it, AI sucks, editing can be wonky, but really it hasn’t had anything to do with the plot. I am solely focusing on the story, execution of the story, and acting. Post production could’ve been better, yes for sure, but the significant hate this is getting is beyond my understanding. I sometimes wonder if many of these fans are new to cdramas and have never watched a republican drama.
They’re not the greatest when it comes to cinematography because many of them use that “old fashioned” filter or have that short vertical drama to them. Thats just what they are, whereas vs a historical/fantasy drama they execute in other things like cgi. Also, there are many fantasy/historical dramas that have terrible post production, but we still enjoy it because of the story, like Love in the Clouds. That was a successful drama but lacked in the cgi, so why all this hate on overdo?
I just want to remind people! THIS IS NOT WCR AND ZHL fault!! They are acting phenomenal! You need to realize that it’s the editing, directing, and other departments that make a drama! The actor’s should still be supported. Not all dramas will be like POJ, but what we can do as real fans of WCR and ZHL is keep giving this a try! Give it more than 2 episodes or even the 5. We know the pacing is fast, the editing can be clunky, and who knows that the finale holds. But let’s show our support! We waited a long time for this, most of the parts we were looking for haven’t happened yet. There’s still sooo much story left! Don’t give up on it!
So those that have watched the livestream or saw bits. It doesn’t look to be a HE. If anyone can clarify this if true or not?! Especially those who have read the full script. What I’m going for is that they’re off to do a dangerous mission, and there’s a possibility they both could die. But I’m hoping none of them do!!! https://x.com/pg0215/status/2078782127869665315?s=46
I encourage everyone to keep watching! Let’s support WCR and ZHL! They worked hard on this drama, honestly, it feels like a short drama, but I don’t mind it because it gets better in episode 3! The pace is better and the story begins to really unfold! I feel like all dramas are like that, you just have to give it more than 1-2 episodes. POJ was amazing from the start, but it did lack a little in the middle, but fans still stuck to it and it ended up being an awesome drama. Let’s keep going with Overdo! Yes, episodes are shorter, but you’d much rather want a story that moves along rather than drags! Let’s show our support!
Who do you think is the leading driving character of the story? Is it susu or qingyi? Even though they are co leads, do you think this is more susu’s story or qingyi’s? From my interpretation, it seems like susu is the driving narrative of story and qingyi is driving emotional arc of the story.
It's a long drama, but I'm not sure if they meant it's fast-paced like short dramas, or if they meant that the…
That’s what I’m thinking too! I don’t mind fast paced at all! Especially if the plot keeps moving but the main thing I was concerned was like the runtime for each episode. Like are they 30mins or more like the average 40-45 mins each type of thing. Too fast paced can be a bad thing because we won’t get invested into the characters as much or they won’t broaden parts of the plot. But of course you don’t want too long or else it just becomes filler. So I’m excited to see what approach they take
Little rant session haha. Idk about you guys, but the waiting and anticipation has kinda fell flat a little haha. Like the peak anxiety feeling of waiting has been crushed so much due to “tentative” release dates that I am kinda burned out lol. I am hoping that this drama is just as we all expect it to be and beautiful! However, some of these past releases like Love For You or Road to Success or Key to the Phoenix heart for example, are good dramas, but I feel like they’re missing something? Their anticipations were high, but the execution seems to be lacking for me? Maybe it’s because Overdo is such a massive drama that these other dramas are just not cutting it for me. Idk what do you guys think?
So, doing some fun investigating. The new Hi6 episode of Overdo comes out the 18th. I did some past episode airdrops of Hi6 for some other dramas like pursuit of jade or Love between lines for example, and those hi6 episodes released on the day after the broadcast dates for those dramas (POJ was march 6 and LBL was Jan 9).
Hi6 Love between lines was Jan 10 and POJ was Mar 7.
So do you think that overdo will premiere next Friday or am I just anticipating too much haha.
