Continue! If you are on like ep 5 or 6 and don't feel it then by all means drop it. But i think you need to give this drama a chance.

I've seen so many actresses and you can tell me if I'm wrong but I don't really know many other chinese actresses who can pull those microexpressions and look like they're truly living their character like Lu Yuxiao. She is genuinely an incredible actress and quickly became one of my favs. She is definitely a new rising actress who deserves more love and more opportunities. And ofc i can't not mention Hou Minghao. He aces every drama he's in and his acting is top notch. The 2 of them together makes this drama so surreal. It is my all-time favorite and prolly will be for a long time

okay if you dropped at ep 5 I would definitely try picking it back up bc it gets more interesting. however if you get past the xun ming arc and are still bored then I would definitely say its just not your cup of tea

It makes me happy to know I'm not the only one thinking about jilu months after it aired. It also makes me happy to see the rating up at 8.2. I really really hope it goes back up to what it deserves because I still can't get over the fact that the rating dropped 0.4/0.5 in one hour like its not possible!

I agree! And honestly the same skepticism came during TFF as well. I know there were people questioning the casting of Zhang Ruonan as Wen Yifan as people didn't think she could pull it off. But after the drama people were praising Zhang Ruonan's acting saying no one else could have pulled off Wen Yifan. I think we gotta give Lin Yi a chance to prove himself and trust in Zhu Yi's masterpieces.

I'm sorry and I rlly don't like comparing dramas and these 2 are definitely way different but I feel like overdo is more interesting than the legend of rosy clouds and yet this is rated lower. I felt legend of rosy clouds was so love triangle and jealousy heavy and not super interesting, whereas this drama has got at least a plot and its at least imo engaging. I just can't get over the rating being 6.9 now?!

ummm me personally i feel like i've seen sloppier dramas with higher ratings. this drama isn't even that bad in fact im invested

I wish she'll get more projects as main lead and not like a main lead in a male-centered plot but truly as a main lead. I feel like her acting in moonlight mystique was so surreal she deserves more

honestly understandable i would totally agree! those dramas def weren't her best ones especially serendipity and the ones u mentioned def show her amazing micro-expression acting. her acting in blossoms in adversity and love in the clouds totally blew me away and i became like the biggest fan of her.

i watched like the first 4 ep but wasn't able to truly get into this, but i know its rlly popular and im not sure if i should try to get into it again. i haven't been able to move past love in the clouds so should i try getting into this again?

there's prolly been ppl who have but it is also a rlly popular kdrama. if its not ur cup of tea don't feel bad about it, but if u dropped it in the first 2 ep maybe give urself some time before deciding if u want to drop it again or not

Forever my number 1 drama. I think I've rewatched this around 10 times, and I'm still debating whether I should rewatch it again. I can't move on 😭

which ep are you on? if its early on i would say to try and persevere further because the plot gets rlly interesting and imo its one of the best cdramas i've watched. ig it kinda depends on ur taste tho

i honestly continued watching the drama only for the 2nd couple. i like skipped almost most of the story line just to see their scenes

I honestly mainly finished this cuz of the 2nd leads and the supporting characters. This had lots of potential with great actors but the storyline was not it. Also it may be an unpopular opinion but i truly think neither of the ml deserved fan yun and that she deserved better. I also unpopularly think that its a little crazy how much fan yun was sobbing when zheng shi killed himself. That whole plot at the end imo was a mess. I mean he forces her to marry him and threatens her and then suddenly decides to kill himself and then fan yun suddenly feels so sad and cries since he did that i mean i felt this was the weirdest ending ever. I was expecting either qi zheng to come and save fan yun ( though this is rlly cliche) or at least for zheng shi to have a change in heart and maybe change for the better. but this ending was def the worst they cud possibly do. i hope all the actors find better scripts in the future because they all are amazing actors who just ended up with a bad plot.

I really liked this drama but I must say He Yan did annoy me during the last episode. Like yes her feelings are valid, but I didn't really like the way she blamed every single thing on Chu Zhao. Did he play a calculated game yes. But this was not his intent and honestly the emperor was the one to make this decision. Chu zhao is not a good person for sure, but I also don't think He Yan had to act like everything was his fault.

I am never moving on from this gem of a drama. I also am never moving on from my anger of the rating but that is unfortunately something I can't fix.
