I reallllly thought this drama was going to be a comfort rewatch for me because it was so fun and cute with such a strong female lead. But now I just can’t rewatch it or even think about it the same way anymore. Ye Xian’s death was way too much. His letters addressing everyone… omg 😭😭The more I think about Ye Xian’s death, the sadder it gets. Who’s going to take care of the cat? The king’s reaction to his death?? His mom and sister have no one to lean on, the Marquis line is cut off, and Gu Jinzhao lost her best friend, her protector, her soulmate fr, she was crying soooo much And the revenge at the end wasn’t satisfying AT ALL. The ending felt soooo rushed. We didn’t even get to see them living happily, having kids, or any happy reunion with the families. Instead, it focused on the villain and Chen Yanyun hiding for like five episodes lol
The whole drama was so good, but the ending was such a disappointment. It was all court battles and war at the very end and Ye Xian’s death was just the icing on the cake. I wish there had been a happy reunion with everyone at the end but it felt so incomplete. Even the revenge didn’t feel satisfying 😭bc the minister basically caused everyone to die, what was even left to stop him from doing? All the evil deeds had already happened. Started the war, destroyed families & all the young master’s right hand men died in the war and then Ye Xian and Xuanqing died too. It was just too much😭😭
It’s so funny how Chen Yan Yun and Gu Jin Zhao are always getting busy doing it 😭😭 Like girl I just know that d be goood😭😭at this rate she’s gonna be pregnant by next episode haha
Not sure I’m sad because he did a lot of horrible things but he slightly redeemed himself
True, I’m just a major sucker for the more handsome second male lead who gets the evil-to-redeemed tragic ending. I feel like that type affects me the most in every drama. Maybe I don’t feel as bad for the male lead because even if he dies, at least his love was reciprocated. But when second male leads die, they’re almost never mourned or remembered, and some are even misunderstood. It’s the empath in me I guess lol
Am I the only one who’s sad about Yanke’s death? I feel like he had so much more depth and a way stronger connection with He Si Mu. Duan Xu and He Si Mu just never had that chemistry to me😭
