it was honestly pretty good considering they condensed 800+ chapters into 36 eps if this drama was slight longer maybe 40 ep or 45 i think they would have made a perfect adaption

i just dont understand where your getting the hypocrite from dawg i understand the selfish and unfeeling cold self serving but where's the hypocrisy if your talking about how she was angry that he hid his true nature and that her nature is basically the exact same as his so why is she mad shes mad because she never hid who she was she always showed him that shes a schemer and cold she straight up tells him she wants him cuz hes dying she was just angry because she thought she was gonna marry a frail dying crown prince who is just love sick and instead hes also a schemer who has the power to control the court even when hes sick. Also she does accept him it takes like 3 episodes bruh idk if i was her i would be way more pissed and for way longer if i found out the guy i specifically chose whose suppose to be frail and weak turned out to be secretly a genius whos manipulating everything behind the scenes i would never trust him ever again but eh who cares i like the drama you dont have to its just a drama

im so glad i read the novel before this aired. This adaption is honestly so well done most dramas these days always take a lot of creative liberties which isn't necessarily a bad thing but seeing a novel adapted this well makes me really happy especially the character of xiao changying he was always my favorite and i was worried they might go to the extreme with him and change his personality but they adapted him perfectly

i heavily disagree with the no logic part all her character wants is enough power to make sure nothing happens to her family shes been traumatized by what happened in her past life as gu qingzhi and she wants to make sure her new family doesnt have the same fate thats it its not like shes power hungry cuz shes evil she just wants to protect her family like idk it doesnt really matter if you guys dont like her ( which is fine your opinion vs mine its just a drama ) because the crown prince likes her exactly the way she is he says something like i dont need you to be virtuous i dont mind that your a schemer i like you the way you are or something id find the quote but i dont wanna look for the scene

her character isnt suppose to be endearing either literally everyone on the show calls her cold and unfeeling even her brother she was never meant to be endearing to us (altho i find her endearing but thats just me)

where what episode please give an example?? you havent provided any evidence also the only secret she hides is her gu qingzhi past shes a very open person also she walks around like shes the crown princesses which she is she has the most authority excluding the crown prince emperor and empress dowager like i dont really understand how you want her to act shes been very much herself the whole time

i cant state this enough you would HATE the novel she is even more extreme in the novel

also give me example of treating them worse then trash unless im misremembering an episode i dont think she does anything to any of those princes except reject them

well every prince sucks except 7th one whos in love with her and her ex husband whos also in love with her and she literally rejects them so idk its not exactly her fault theyre still in love with her She also doesnt need any of these princes to be at her beck and call please show me the episode that does that and if your talking about when shes selecting which one to be her husband shes just making sure shes choosing the right person aka someone who isnt evil/ have a ill intent and yes she is scheming but shes not like backstab betrayal schemer she literally tells the crown prince the exact reason why she wants to marry him

its a HE in the novel idk if itll be in the show tho they are following the book really accurately so its probably a HE but who knows

you would hate the novel this is based on lmao in the novel she doesnt even kinda fall for him till like chp 400 But i love her character shes brutally herself every female lead these days are too self sacrificing and naive at least shes unique and she does have ulterior motives but she literally tells him shes not marrying him for love and hes ok with it and she only questions him because she knows if he were to turn against her, her entire family would be at stake and she cant risk that the whole reason she wanted to marry him is because he has power but hes gonna die young so he use that power against her. But i understand why people dont like her personally shes one of my fav novel female lead

he does in the novel he becomes the teacher of xihe and huayong child but i dont know if they will follow that plot in the show because in the novel he never finds out that qingzhi is xihe he suspects it at first but xihe convinces him she isnt and he lets go of her. the drama has been pretty accurate but they cut out some filler and a couple key points but they might add it in later episodes so who knows
