GREAT STORY AND ACTING

WOW!!! This was indeed a masterpiece. For me, MLSHR is one of the best historical kdramas I've watched so far and honestly, although I'm in love with kdramas but not usually the historical dramas, this was an exception. I felt the need to write a review here. I don't know those who were saying that this drama was trash and the actors were not good either but for me, this was beyond my expectations.

IU was really great in her role, I mean, I was surprised that she portrayed Have Soo's character so well and don't even get me started on Lee Joon Gi's role here. I mean, he literally killed it and he was super great. It's not just about acting, it's been able to understand, blend in and portray the characters in the story. 4th Prince Wang So's character is a really hard one and LJG was amazing in this role and he portrayed the character so well. Infact, as I see it, he's a really great actor especially in historical dramas.

This drama was so intriguing and so touching. It's so hard to put how I feel about this drama into words. I mean the story was great although it ended so sadly. I really wished there was another chance or a way to make up things and truly, the throne is not a place for fun. This made me realize that in life, one has to give up something or sacrifice something in order to protect something else. I usually don't cry when watching dramas but this was an exception and I couldn't even control my emotions. I mean, the drama really got to me... into my soul.

Regardless of the sad ending here, the chemistry in this drama was really top-notch. I mean if you decide to watch the drama, you can even feel the love portrayed by the couple in this drama and that is what consoled me. I didn't expect such wonderful chemistry and Lee Joon Gi was really handsome and in such a strange way. It's hard not to notice him and I was really beautiful too.

To anyone who wants to watch this drama, I really encourage you to do so. I didn't want to watch it at first because of the sad ending but my curiosity got the better of me. I don't regret watching the drama even through all the roller coaster of emotions and tension. But to be honest, from my own point of view, I don't really feel sorry or pity for the brothers who were killed plus bloodshed was inevitable too since it was destor fate. After watching so many historical dramas with politics especially about acquiring the throne, sometimes, I wonder what's so special about the throne. It really got me thinking because after finally getting the throne, some of them regret and the loneliness up there is unbearable plus worrying about their own safety, protecting those they love and ruling a nation. I just realized that position comes with a really high prize.

I don't know why this drama was not well received in South Korea cause most of their historical drama is like this. Still, I think this drama deserved an award an di don't if it received one cause it was so good and the acting too was top-notch. I really recommend this drama to anyone who wants to watch it but prepare yourself both mentally and emotionally.
