exactly what i wanted to say. if they got better scripts with better budget, they would be sooo much bigger than they already are.
look at domundi. they improved their shows so much by giving them the most budget they could and tried to improve their writing. obviously, it's still not the best but you can see how much domundi is benefiting from pouring more money and effort into their bls. gmmtv easily couldve gone this route and be so much bigger.
china is playing the ambitious game and that's crazy for a country that has to play tricks to bypass the restrictions. they can't even get proper domestic support the bls from other countries get.
it's really shameful that gmmtv isn't looking around and seeing how ambitious everyone around them is at the moment and they're still offering the same thing they've been doing for years.
just saw ep 8... BLOODY HELL... when i tell you i was gasping the entire episode... IVE NEVER FELT THIS MUCH OF A RUSH FROM A THAI BL SINCE LIKE KINNPORSCHE... JUST INSANE... i signed up because the leads looked so darn handsome. never expected to take such a wild ride in the process.

it was bound to happen sooner or later. thai bls have grown so much that gmmtv is no longer the sole leading supplier, and their competition is increasingly putting out bigger budget and more thoughtful produced shows. meanwhile, gmmtv seems to be releasing back to back low effort projects, and at this point, their cash grab model is becoming increasingly obvious. they're purposefully not choosing to evolve so their costs don't increase.
honestly, i think even the fans are now slowly starting to notice it. their faves bring in so much money and traction, yet gmmtv invests only a tiny fraction of that back into the shows themselves.
i still think gmmtv still has a much better actor lineup compared to other production companies but they're totally mismanaging their potential because of their current quantity over quality model.
i have yet to watch this but domundi must be happy as hell rn lol. they've been having back to back major success with their bls since khemjira. domundi is the only production company i trust to use this momentum to invest even more into their future series.
brightwin have to be one of the worst cases of gay4pay we've ever gotten in thai bl history. both of them got insane popularity from this show and immediately never looked back to do a bl role again. even ohm despite ohmnanon's insane popularity went on to make a risky move to do another bl role with a new partner. but i also blame gmmtv forcing them into hetero roles because they've always viewed bl as a lesser genre belonging to less popular actors.
ego took over bright and he tried becoming an independent actor/singer and failed miserably. all he does now is float on brand deals he got after this show and f4 and retweets cocky posts about him paving the way for thai bl. the only major high production project win has done since f4 will be the scarlet heart remake. after like... 6 years.
sure, they got rich enough after this but their legacy is just outright embarassing.
gmmtv has truly lost the sauce prioritizing quantity over quality for profits. every single recent bl ive watched from gmmtv starts with a very interesting premise but then they do nothing with it and it suddenly just gets so boring and extremely predictable and remains that way till the end. to think this company once gave us a tale of thousand stars, bad buddy, and not me in a single year once...
and the worst thing about thai bl fandoms is that if you criticize any bl show, the fans will move like kpop stans and attack you because they automatically will lump you together with someone who hates the actors.
done with ep 7 and im starting to realize how close i am to finishing this show and it already makes me so sad... i'm just gonna say tongtong has to be the most talented thai actor who played a bl after gun for me.
ive just reached ep 6 and god tongtong can ACT ACT. i'm thoroughly impressed. now i feel mad for this series having much less watchers here (and in general) compared to other 2026 bls. this show is genuinely one of the best this year.
waaiitt the acting in ep 5. okaayy tong show us that you're a veteran actor for a reason. omg they were truly acting like their rent was due. def one of the best acting performances we've seen in thai bl history. boss is really doing good for his role too.
thai bl industry please watch this and check how much of a difference good acting can make.
kinda surprised spare me your mercy isn't in the top recommendations. both of these shows have many similarities and i really suggest watching that bl if you havent and love this one!
one thing i really love about this show so far is how fast paced it is. covers everything perfectly and doesn't overstay its welcome which makes it even more special. i'm kinda only used to japan giving us fast paced stuff and i didn't really think the same would work great for thai bls but it oddly does. like i love love that thai bls are giving 1 hour+ runtime as of late but as a busy person this show works perfect to unwind to after a long day. i wish every old thai bl was like this covering this much content within a 45 mins runtime rather than dragging out a single part of the story forever.
i won't lie, it was nice to see a bl/gay romance story from japan have 44 mins long eps. resulted into a pretty sweet pacing throughout. it was enough to cover the entire story properly but still didn't overstay its welcome.
since Japan is doing S2s, imma need 3 or 4 more seasons of Cherry Magic
since ossans love got a s2 almost 6 years later... it's really never too late. like lets run it up and do s2 for cherry magic and my love mix up!! they would be so successful.
lowkey want gmmtv to do a bl/gl remakes of iconic shows instead. kinda like the recent love destiny adaptation. for example, imagine a properly licensed f4/scarlet heart remake but its a bl/gl story instead? now thats actual big moves

that was surely enjoyable. tomita miki's works always look so good. whoever styled the actor behind kanata needs a pay raise. he looked so good throughout the show and really sold the popular guy role. am i the only who saw a bit of resemblance between him and fluke pusit??
