I have to commend the script; it's excellent. Although the scenes set in Northern Qi are a bit drawn out, overall it's really good. The comedic scenes and dialogue are perfectly executed and appropriate for the context. The central character is Ye Qing Mei, whom we barely see in the drama, yet she's the root cause of everything. Every character is connected to Ye Qing Mei; she's the reason all the characters come together and play interconnected roles, making the drama incredibly engaging.
The veteran lead actors are fantastic. I personally loved the chemistry between Fan Xian and Wang Qi Nian; their roles were amazing.
The child actor Finn Han, who was probably only 9 years old at the time, playing Fan Xian [Child], was also excellent. I loved everything about this drama. After watching it, I had to take a break from watching dramas for 2-3 weeks because other dramas I tried weren't as enjoyable.
