Editorials A genuinely satisfying historical mystery drama
Coroner's Diary hooked me from the very beginning with a strong central mystery that kept me curious until the end. Both the male and female leads were introduced well, and I quickly became invested in their characters. I especially liked that both leads played an important role in moving the story forward rather than simply being a romantic couple.
The smaller cases were also interesting because they felt like pieces of a larger puzzle instead of unnecessary filler. I enjoyed following the clues and connecting them to the main mystery, and the story consistently moved from one conflict to another without feeling dragged out.
The historical Chinese setting was also exactly my taste, and the romance developed naturally with a satisfying happy ending. Most importantly, the major mystery introduced at the beginning was properly resolved, giving the story a very satisfying payoff.
Strong hook, great leads, engaging mysteries, good pacing, meaningful romance, and a rewarding ending. An easy 10/10 for me.
