Before Ubukata Miku was an interesting writer...
Watched this drama written by Ubukata Miku because of how she had mixed genres in Until the T-Shirt Dries. I thought maybe it was her style, but this show, Where Does the Sea Begin, written before, was the exact opposite. It has one mood from beginning to end. Sadness, mellow repetitive music, supposedly heartbreaking child actress and more sadness.There is literally no point in watching 12 hours of the same thing, and I can't understand how she was able to write that.
Hopefully, her next works will be more in the vein of Until the T-Shirt Dries: great dialogues worthy of a play and directions that keep surprising the audience.
