PAMNE

There is something soulless about this drama that i can't put my hands to. Maybe it's the disconnection between the physical setting, costumes and AI usage that makes it tiresome to enjoy the rest of the story. The acting is good and i love the cast very much but Remarried Empress lacks that unique magic that made me leave western shows for Kdramas. It feels like i'm watching one of the million low effort Disney shows or movies that stopped being entertaining 15 years ago. The physical setting has been re used over and over again in western movies even where the story isn't applicable. In fact, most of it looks like the AI used in Disney cartoons. I know this is an adaptation, but it should still hold that Korean aura that pulled me into their universe in 2008. I think Kdramas have generally been going downhill since foreign companies joined the Industry and unfortunately, Remarried Empress has fallen victim of that misfortune. The costumes don't speak of the splendor that South Korean costume designers are capable of unleashing. The physical setting is very much western that it makes it impossible to bring out the Korean royalty the story is trying to sell to us. It creates a huge barrier between the story background and the characters portraying it.
My conclusion is; a very good story and an excellent cast were wasted by horrible production!
