Title Ao to Midori Spoiler
This episode is all about distance: the kind that comes from busy schedules, from assumptions, and from two people who care too much to say it plainly. Ao stops reaching out, and Midori, who is usually so guarded, is clearly bothered by it. His line about the one person he actually wants to hear from never messaging him says a lot.

Ao’s side is just as painful. He’s convinced Midori has a girlfriend, so he decides to keep his feelings to himself and just stay close as a friend. The piano comparison was a lovely touch, because it shows he doesn’t want this relationship to end in regret.

I loved the small moments: the flower shop scenes, the awkward “did you change your hair?” reunion, and the way Midori hides his feelings behind teasing. The graduation reunion finally clears up the girlfriend misunderstanding, and both of them realize how much they’ve been assuming. The ending leaves their relationship unresolved, which will definitely have me counting down to the next episode.

Big thanks to hayami akari on YouTube for the English subs. They really bring out the emotion in the quiet scenes. 💚

I wasn’t planning to take this series seriously. I only started it today, but episode 1 completely changed my mind, and now I can’t wait for episode 2.

What impressed me most is the acting. Both leads are very good, and you can feel it in the way they interact: the small looks, the comfortable silences, the way they talk to each other. The chemistry feels natural and believable, which is exactly what a BL needs to work. I haven’t read the novel, so I’m going in blind, but if the series is faithful to it, it must be a really beautiful story.

I also loved how the episode made me curious. Kanda is the star of the sales team, so seeing him make three calculation mistakes in one month felt strange, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My theory is that the mistakes are connected to Ueno, as if Kanda is unconsciously looking for reasons to be near him. It’s sweet, and a little sad at the same time.

I also loved how real their closeness feels. They hang out at each other’s apartments and are comfortable together in a way that goes far beyond being coworkers. At one point, I even wondered whether they were exes, because one scene felt like a farewell between two people who used to be together. Even after learning more, I still feel there’s a lot of unspoken emotion between them, and that’s what keeps me hooked.

So far, it’s a quiet, tender, well-acted start, and I’m very curious to see where it goes.

Episode 1 is available on YouTube with subtitles.

First of all, a little appreciation for the YouTube channel where I watched this episode. The subtitles are always so good, the video quality is excellent (1080p), and I genuinely appreciate the effort that goes into making the episodes accessible. If you're looking for Episode 3 with subtitles, definitely check out the channel on YouTube. From what I understand, the videos are only available for a short time sometimes around 24 hours or a few days which might explain why you can't find the older episodes later. So keep that in mind.

Now, Ao and Midori are TOO CUTE. 😭 I loved that we got both of their perspectives in this episode. It made everything even more emotional because we can see how much they care about each other, yet they keep misunderstanding each other's feelings.

And Ao is such a pretty crier 😭 I just want to hug him. I think he was finally preparing to confess his feelings, but after hearing Midori talk about getting closer to a girl, he probably assumed his feelings weren't reciprocated. Their goodbye felt like Ao was giving Midori the freedom to love someone else, even if it meant saying goodbye to his own love. 💔

Meanwhile, I feel like Midori is beginning to realise just how much Ao means to him. But PLEASE, these two need to communicate.

Also, the girl who's interested in Midori is so pretty and sweet that I can't even dislike her. 😂 Girl, I love you, but please read the room and step aside.

I just hope Midori doesn't try to date her to hide his feelings for Ao. That wouldn't be fair to either of them. He also seems way too concerned about what society will think of his relationship with Ao, and I hope he learns to stop letting other people's opinions control his feelings.

Overall, such a sweet and emotional episode, four years of mutual pining, and these two are still making me suffer. I can't wait for Episode 4.

First of all, I watched the episode on YouTube, and the subtitles are SO good ❤️ They’re clear and available in several languages, not just English.

And OMG, these two are still so cute. But I feel like there’s an underlying tension in their relationship. Watarai seems afraid of losing Hioki, and that fear might explain his jealousy and tendency to overthink things that may not actually threaten their relationship.

At the same time, Hioki’s nonchalant attitude can make it difficult to tell how much he realizes or understands Watarai’s worries. I don’t think it necessarily means he cares less; they might simply approach love differently.

🥹 So, while Hioki might feel secure in their relationship, Watarai might still find himself wondering whether he’s doing enough or whether his feelings are being reciprocated in the way he needs.

My concern is that this fear could make Watarai increasingly jealous and eventually leave Hioki feeling suffocated, even though neither of them necessarily intends to hurt the other. They clearly care about each other.

Honestly, I feel like things could blow up at any moment, but I’m really curious to see how they navigate these differences.
