A Waste of Time

I actually liked Namgoong Ho at first. He seemed like the most levelheaded of the four, which makes what the writers did to his character even more disappointing. I have no problem with Ho and Mido breaking up after ten years. Their relationship was falling apart. Mido was wrong to kiss Tae-seung, but that doesn't make Ho innocent. He developed feelings for Su-a while still engaged, kept dragging things out, and acted like some selfless saint instead of being honest about what he wanted.

His SACRIFICE is basically a buy now pay later scheme with insane interest rates. Nobody signed up, yet somehow everyone owes him, including the family that raised him. What a saint! 🙄

And Su-a literally said she'd keep loving Ho and staying by his side even if he married Mido. Yet two years later, he goes back to her, while Mido ends up with Tae-seung. Seriously? What exactly did any of them learn? A time skip isn't character development, and finding a new partner doesn't magically erase your past behavior. If the message was that love doesn't always last, fine! Nobody's arguing with that. The problem is how the story handles betrayal, boundaries, and accountability. Instead, it almost makes it look like pursuing someone who's already taken long enough will eventually pay off. And somehow people call this healing and maturity?

I also know Seo Kang-joon isn't Ho, and I'm not saying he's a bad person. But the way he repeatedly praises Ho's kindness and moral character in interviews genuinely baffles me. Does he actually see a man like Ho as admirable? Because if so, that's concerning...

P.S. Honestly, none of the four is decent. Ho emotionally cheated, Mido kissed another man back, Tae-seung forcibly kissed an engaged woman while she was drunk, and Su-a declared she'd stay by Ho's side even if he married Mido 🤢
