Sure, he can't do anything directly, but he's got a few options. I know if my world had been turned upside down, and it's looking like I have to live in this new country indefinitely, I'd be thinking about a safe future and gather as much info as possible, ask tons of questions to the king, father and staff about the palace, family, political climate before and after the attack, ask about the man that raised me, get details on all the main players from the four families, study the other heirs' fencing and archery styles and abilities in preparation for the competition, practice diligently and maybe take a class at the university. As Khanin, I'd be so busy Charan would have to chase me. But we'll see where this goes.

This show started off great with beautiful aesthetics and a good balance of intrigue and romance but it's going downhill fast. These last two episodes, 5 & 6, were a waste of time, and it's kind of annoying how Khanin seems to have forgotten what he said his purpose was for staying and competing in Emmaly. The only thing he's taking seriously is being bratty and chasing Charan, which that part is actually fine, but c'mon man! Focus!
