Lol she's a jaded person who has gone through a lot of difficulties, most of which she experienced as a child so she's allowed to be hesitant rescuing someone who could potentially bring harm to her little family unit in future

She was okay just being WXL but gave it up in a heartbeat to support Xuan, she wholeheartedly saved TSJ even before she fell in love, loved and accepted XL even when everyone else knew him only as the feared demon, even covered for him as FFB so no one would expose his hidden identity. XY is one of my fave FLs in Cdramaland and the role made me fall in love with YZ who I previously didn't care for and now she's one of my faves. You should definitely watch this.

Agree with you entirely. Having her come to the realization of his entire sacrifice will at least have him living on in her memory, she'll carry the knowledge of that truth everyday, the greatest gift the living can give the dead is to remember them, XL played too vital a role to just be brushed off like a speck of dust. Honestly I don't even want her to have a happily ever after, she lost her soul mate, it should leave a mark on her emotionally, that's only fair to XL. Having her live in oblivious eternal bliss hurts even more.
As someone who read the book twice amd re-watched S1 uncountable times, I don't think I'm brave enough to wait for episodes knowing the end of the one my heart belongs to, I think it's like a band-aid that's better ripped off at once, so I'm waiting for all episodes to be released before I dive in
