Lol she's a jaded person who has gone through a lot of difficulties, most of which she experienced as a child so she's allowed to be hesitant rescuing someone who could potentially bring harm to her little family unit in future

As for CX when I say she gave up her carefree life for him, she literally didn't have to take the princess title anymore and live a quiet life, but immediately he mentioned going back to reclaim his place she didn't miss a beat.

Trust me I know she's heavily flawed and has some character deficiencies (plus I personally don't agree with her not choosing XL) but one thing she can't be accused of is being selfish.

I saw her in OTJ, my first ever Cdrama amd OMG I hated her character there then also in GGS so I just wrote her off as the cutesy hare-brained FL, when I saw her here I loved her so much I watched AOL because of her. This drama is proof that one character could make a difference for an actor.

XY selfish? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. She was okay just being WXL but gave it up in a heartbeat to support Xuan, she wholeheartedly saved TSJ even before she fell in love, loved and accepted XL even when everyone else knew him only as the feared demon, even covered for him as FFB so no one would expose his hidden identity. XY is one of my fave FLs in Cdramaland and the role made me fall in love with YZ who I previously didn't care for and now she's one of my faves. You should definitely watch this.

Agree with you entirely. Having her come to the realization of his entire sacrifice will at least have him living on in her memory, she'll carry the knowledge of that truth everyday, the greatest gift the living can give the dead is to remember them, XL played too vital a role to just be brushed off like a speck of dust. I literally want her hurting everyday for what could have been but never was

Honestly I don't even want her to have a happily ever after, she lost her soul mate, it should leave a mark on her emotionally, that's only fair to XL. Having her live in oblivious eternal bliss hurts even more.

As someone who read the book twice amd re-watched S1 uncountable times, I don't think I'm brave enough to wait for episodes knowing the end of the one my heart belongs to, I think it's like a band-aid that's better ripped off at once, so I'm waiting for all episodes to be released before I dive in

P. S. I already rated every episode and the entire show 10 because it's LYF, duh? This show has my whole heart and my biggest wish is the producers do XL justice by revealing the Epilogue to Xiao Yao, starting from the bow he made for her to the gazillion things he did after, like a whole entire episode focused on all his sacrifices for her, I'd kill to see her reaction to all that

Great analysis btw, but I'm asking for timestamps of their interactions in every episode, so I'll just watch only their scenes on my next rewatch, or a video compilation of all their scenes

On my 3rd rewatch and I'll never get tired of saying what a masterpiece this drama is. I think i got Eps 17&18 scenes burned in my memory by now, I play the OSTs like crazy and I always come around to read comments here.

I can honestly say I hate this drama with the burning fire of a thousand suns. Such a ridiculously stupid 32 year old FL, such a stupid story, such annoying side characters, didn't like or connect with anyone, I forwarded so much the only parts I could tolerate was FL&ML interactions (SWL was the reason I endured as long as Episode 15) . The FL treated the relationship like it was COVID, i know you're low key but my God, freaking out over a picture of just hands, frantically searching for a card that fell out of the bunch of flowers and going to the movies like it's a James Bond movie is abit overkill no? The 2ML was a manipulative jerk I couldn't stand past the 2nd episode and forwarded all his scenes, it was even worse that she had to meet him and discuss every little thing with him like her brain went on vacay and he just had to do all the thinking for her 🙄🙄the side characters were such a bore I nearly cried, wish I could rate this 0, sadly 1 is the lowest. It's garbage don't waste your time
