I just checked on Weibo. The actor seems pretty popular. You seem to be preying on the international fans' unfamiliarity with Cfandom and trying to portray that he's very hated there for 'racism'. You are lying. This is not happening on Weibo at all, probably because the Chinese fans on weibo don't have to rely on google translate to mistranslate things he say.
The 'Chinese articles' you linked to previously are well known for having a lot of fake news and misinformation, with a crazy amount of ads. They target international readers who can't easily fact check what's said there. They scrape all kinds of lowest tier tabloid articles to be reposted and also post AI-generated nonsense based on clickbait topics. Anyone who clicks on links this user posts, I highly suggest you use some kind of anti-virus to be safe.
Well done to Pei Ling! I think she deserves it and I'm glad she finally won after so many years. I really liked some of the other contestants too but I think her performances in the finale were really on another level. I hope she gets to sign on with a good company and we hear more of her after this!

Exactly same thoughts! I like the remaining performers too but An Qi and Veegee were just consistently better and were delivering killer performances. I have my thoughts on the so-called voting lol.
I've been watching judges cuts too and sometimes, they include BTS vids which aren't in the whole episode. I've seen all the Zhou Shen vids (my fave is ZS!), and any fans of Jackson should look for BTS vids too because he has more presence in some of those.
I’m following this show mainly because of the judges, because I’m more of a fan of Zhou Shen, Ella and Jackson, but I had also been enjoying the performances of the contestants.
The elimination of Veegee and An Qi has reduced my anticipation of the later episodes, because some of the poorer performers who somehow mysteriously remained won’t be able to perform anywhere near either of their level. An Qi particularly has been an incredible all-rounder, with killer performances and it’s a loss to not have her in the final episodes.
I’ve grown to really like the performances from some of the younger performers, like Zhang Yuzi, Huang Yubo, Wang OK and Jeryl. But frankly, after 8 episodes, their performances are getting very samey. I think their inexperience is showing because they’re struggling to do something different. It doesn’t help that they keep teaming up with the same people, who all have the same level of inexperience so they produce the same type of performances. Zhang Yuzi is my fave right now of the remaining contestants but she really needs to do ONE performance without some leg lifting-sweeping move, because it’s really getting to be a bit much.
I really like the timbre of Wang OK’s voice and I even think Wang OK and Li Tianze are very cute but episode 8 was overkill with selling CP. To me, their performance lacked balance, because they were too busy selling CP to make it a balanced 8 minute performance. Especially the middle part that seemed more like Wang OK was the performer and Li Tianze was the accompaniment. I really wish Wang OK would perform on her own because I just miss her solo performances at this stage and want the less coupley stuff.
I also really wish some contestants wouldn’t create this whole ‘story arc’ for their participation, where they do a mediocre to terrible first one or two performances, and then they have an epiphany and find the mental strength to rise up from their defeat to deliver an amazing (but actually at their regular level) performance. And everyone is so wowed by their ‘progress’. It’s especially obvious with the much more experienced contestants.
At the rate I’m going, I might end up skipping some performances and just watch the judges’ reactions.
I created this account just so I could comment on this show lol. I’ve watched so many singing competitions and idol ‘competitions’ but this one has the most unnecessarily convoluted scoring system I’ve ever seen.
The Adventurer, Hunter, Guardian, etc concepts were messy and don’t seem to add value but the scoring has gotten even worse from Ep 7 onwards. On top of this category type of score-winning, it's gotten messier with the Group competitions, where they say how your group performs will decide if you will be eliminated or not, except individuals are scored separately at the end of it all, so if you’re in a ‘to be eliminated group’, you’re still safe if you are in an arbitrary number of top individual performers. You might as well not have a group competition and just stick to individuals competing.
But I guess some of these rules are to ensure that SOME of the top performers are eliminated because they’re dragged down by poorer performers while ‘certain’ top performers are retained. My opinion is that people are here to watch good performances and a singing competition. The complicated scoring system doesn’t add anything.
