Written in the Tides - 难攀京枝
fairly good chemistry between the leads, but the execution of the story feels very messy. Honestly, even after finishing it, I still found myself struggling to understand the plot because some events happened too quickly, the connections between certain events were unclear, and many parts felt forced just to move the story toward the next conflict. The character development and relationships also felt poorly structured, making it difficult to fully understand the characters’ motivations or why certain things happened. There were some romantic moments that I enjoyed, and the visuals of the cast were quite good, but I don’t think that was enough to make up for the confusing and inconsistent storyline. Wen Ning, Pretty decent, but her character development could have been much better because the plot was too messy. Zhi Yu, More interesting to watch, especially because of his aura and his chemistry with the female lead. And honestly, the male lead is so handsome, omg. Romance, There were some sweet moments and romantic tension, but the development of their relationship felt somewhat affected by the messy plot.
Styling: Lastly, the hair styling really bothered me. His hair was way too puffy—it looked like a loaf of bread straight out of the oven. 😭 I actually preferred the female lead’s hairstyle in the final episode. The curls were exactly what I had been hoping for, and she looked absolutely gorgeous.
Overall, I was quite disappointed because the story had potential, but the plot was too messy and left me questioning what was happening more often than actually enjoying the story.
