On At a Distance, Spring Is Green Jul 2, 2021
I'm a bit disappointed by the last 2 episodes. The drama concentrates too much on the romance and the female lead, rather than the bromance and the relationship between Yeo Joon and his family.

I'm fine with them not going full BL, but they should at least keep the bromance the main element of the story.

Well, the actor himself had to apologize. So even if they are not the main target of the drama, bad press does…
I never said it was because of any backlash in Korea.

I find it funny how international fans think they have so much power as if this show was made for them.. don't…

TV ratings this week dropped a bit also, it's not related to this matter but I wouldn't be surprized if it continues as Ep.2 was disapointing to say the least (the writers seem to have ran out of new ideas).
Regarding Alex Lee character, I don't think SBS will do anything nor apologize.
I've read the comments on korean websites, and people laugh at it , don't care and don't see anything wrong. And this public is the main target of the drama, international platforms are just a bonus.
It's only on international websites such as MDL, streaming sites, etc. where people are disapointed/annoyed.

I'm disapointed but not surprized. Sadly, in east asia people of color are often regarded as something exotic you can laugh about. I don't think the penthouse writers had any ill intentions, just the usual east asian mindset regarding africa. Black people are constantly portrayed as thugs, or buffoon, never as businessmen or classy persons.
