Spider man meets after-life meets korea meets demons. That is how it felt from episode 1 on XD Very well done cinematographic wise and special effect wise. I could however not connect with the story and within the last 5 episodes not with the characters either. One second one go pulled in and the next it was off again. They focused a lot on the popular themes I see in western superhero shows/movies and i get why this is so well liked, but for me in terms of depth it often kept to the surface. I do think this drama would have immensely profited if they had 20 episodes and actually developed each characters story and not just given a scene and over with. 7/10 for me.
Do they all cheat, why did the did the newly wedded boy cheat and what sides/how is it portrayed? I'm curious…
So for now 3 / 4-ish couples are introduced where at least one couple faces a cheating problem. The other one is still a bit in the open what the cause for their problems is. There seems to be someone else but we do not know much about that yet. The 3rd seems to be more about parents-problems than cheating. the Newly-weds are not newly-weds when the story stars - there is a time-jump. With the sides: With cheating there is no one side. It has multiple layers and different reasons. This is all very well debated in the opening. If you are open to that i do think you might enjoy the drama .
I keep wondering, how do you guys define a "happy" ending? And by this, I mean what does it imply for :- The comatose…
Bong-hwan turns out to be he reincarnation of the queen. So basically their soul is the same. This is the only way I can make sense of the show and its ending
1st episode: i really liked the opening with the talk about cheating and marriage. It is very well done and finally mentions sides we see so rarely being talked about anywhere. The different couples themselves so far are leaving some air open for development . But the show is choosing a tricky path; either its becoming a gripping drama or its going down a draggy line. I do hope for the first since the topic of marriage - cheating - and divorce is so well argued.
Will this have a happy ending in the original source if there is any?
depends on where they will let it end. The novel has this specific chapter that i like to imagine does not exist. Now if they don't include this chapter it will have a happy ending
I am still hesitating to watch, is it worth? someone enlighten me pls
yess but beware you will get a belly ache from laughing so much, and feel frustrated on waiting each week for new episodes XD This drama is THAT addicting
Its a well done Sherlock Holmes meet 1922 China. The characters were interesting and well played. Music was fitting too, just like they did the costumes. The scenery was often heavily computerized, which can be overlocked since its only minor scenes where they show it The story itself would have profited immensely if they had followed through with a case build up but they solely focused on the individual cases that were the story for each episode. The biggest letdown was the ending though. I dont get it. We have 24 episodes and they end it at a cliffhanger. What was the point of the 24 episodes? all in all 7/10 for me
Cinematographic and music wise it was top notch. I truly love the background OST. There are some themes in it....just wow. The story however is lacking. At times it is quite a bit ridiculous, other times its so gripping you can stop starring at the screen. The characters are fine, especially the main male lead is very interesting. The female lead(s) are a bit weak in comparison to him. Neither of the 2 characters is truly developed deeply. And I do have to say.....I enjoyed the acting of Seol Hyun the first 8 episodes immensely but she does not truly evolve her role much....The sub characters are build up to be interesting but not all are truly getting the spotlight that would add to the story. Non the less I really did enjoy the first 8 episodes and afterwards itstill had a conclusive ending. 7/10 for me
Great potential but it drowned before it could become anything. I have rarely seen a drama that has the perfect foundation to become something absolutely phenomenal but not picking it up at all. This one had such a great beginning, great characters, interesting story and so on but it never truly evolved into something absolutely gripping and mind blowing. It constantly dragged on the first step of maybeeee somewhere having a peak (which is also the only reason I stuck with it). But disappointingly it never got to a peak. 6/10 for me.
Now that the drama is finished i ask again, is there romance between the leads ? And does the drama have a happy…
not really. There are hints and one could say a subtile romancy vibe but if you hope for a love affair or any kisses you might be disappointed. A kiss scene is with the 2nd lead couple though.
I think if this had not been a 2nd season it would be judged quite well but since it is the 2nd season to a truly absolutely top notch drama it is quite disappointing. The new male lead actor does his job well, I gotta admit though i miss the old one. I think the other actor fit better with the main cast voice vise and also acting vise but otherwise he did his job well. The story itself is a bit slow in the beginning, gets exiting after episode 10 and then becomes flat again. I missed the gripping-ness from season 1. Cinematographic wise though this was a gem again. Music vise it was also well done. Now if only they would have added more to the story like they did in season 1..... Either way all in all its a 8/10 for me. 8 because it truly is a well done crime case it just feels flat compared to season 1.
The Kidnapping game! I so loved this too. The main pair had a great chemistry and the story was gripping. A well done drama! But one drama I missed on your list was "Perfect and Casual". Seriously It is a gem when it comes to romance dramas. If you have not seen it, i highly recommend it :)
wow! This was absolutely amazing! The drama is amazingly done, the cinematographic was absolutely awesome! Also the characters where not like the typical clichee ones. And the story....the story was one of the most interesting I have ever seen. At the beginning it takes a little to get pulled into the drama and not wanting to stop watching it, but once it does catch ones interest, there is no stopping it. The only problem I have is the ended. They could have left it at a slight more conclusive way and less open. Granted there is already the 2nd season but non the less it is a little annoying. Non the less its a 10/10 for me
I loved this! It was so cute, funny and very enjoyable to watch. The cinematographic was very artistic done, the songs are golden, the couple makes you feel like you are enjoying a very sweet dessert. I truly would have liked to watch more episodes of this but 24 ....so be it The only point i did not enjoy were the occasional absolute ridiculous moments and the huge switch from being focused on cooking to becoming a pure romance drama. The female lead lost her whole passion for her profession. But apart from these points it is a solid 9/10

I cannot wait what she will say about Rebel Princess/Monarch Industry
