Saju couple was the best part of this drama
Overall,this drama is my comfort drama!it’s a thriller but still I ve watched this so many times and I still do!it’s the first drama I ve ever watched so many times(usually I don t watch a drama twice,so that’s big for me)!the best part of the show and I mean it wholeheartedly is the saju couple🫶🏻!the chemistry between yoo yeon seok and chae soo bin was off the charts!they carried the show on their shoulders!yoo yeon seok is a versatile actor!I have seen other dramas before and he always creates a great chemistry with his leading ladies!but for me that one was his top one!Chae soo bin also creates great chemistry with her coactors and I find her very talented especially for her age,since she is a decade younger than him!her portrayal of sign language was perfect and she expressed herself really well…and we can tell that was not easy!
Ok now to the plot!I really loved it!the thriller genre with combination of romance was perfect and the most thrilling part for me was the thing that in every episode there was a missing info!I think the director is really good because he focused also to details!the irrational part of sa eon leaving for warzone for me wasn t that irrational!ok he could have died and thats the illogical part ,but it s not that it was never mentioned before( that he used to be war correspondent there in the past)!
If you think of his character also …it makes a bit sense!sa eon was grown up without an identity!he never knew how to love and being loved and he could not even be himself and do or wear what he likes!the first time he loved someone was hui ju because he found peace in her silence,while everyone else was noisy(at least that s what he said)!people are saying he was a red flag but I don t think he was!he was cold to her definitely but it’s not that he forced to her to do something else in the marriage!when he got married to her (actually he pushed the marriage for two reasons-firstly because he loved her and secondly because he didn t want her mother to sell her to the other infamous chaebol),he was also trapped in that!he thought he saved her from that situation but he just created another golden cage for her!he didnnt want to make it difficult for him later so he kept his distance!in other words he pushed her away because she was truly his vulnerability and actually I believe because he didn’t know how he could love her properly!he didnnt want also for her to be connected to him publically ,so she wouldn t be hurt ,as he had many enemies!if you think from the first episode it was clear that he loves her but she couldn t see it because of the phone call that he said call me if there is a dead body(that was harsh I agree🙄,but he already checked that she was with her mother)!the change to his behavior was after this abduction (there was this shift- he was starting having doubts about her ,he couldn t control things and he realised she also had secrets)and even more clear after her falling off the cliff ,that he really had remorse off his cold behavior towards her)!so i don t say it was the best decision of him going to Argan but when he realised that the most dreadful thing that happened to her and made her live like that (muted),happened because of his family he couldn t handle this and he wrongly blamed himself!it is a bit stupid yes but also characteristic of a human being-feeling remorse when you didn t do anything wrong!so he ended up at the only place he knew from the past that also reminded him of her!
Now the other traumatised person of our plot:
Hui ju -i feel she was the most difficult character for someone to portray!so congratulations to chae soo bin ,I can’t imagine another Hong hui ju!she completed the sign language tasks very well and she could speak with her eyes!she is very expressive and that was necessary especially in the first episodes that she couldn’t talk!Hui ju also suffered because of her family and her low self esteem that her mother really created!she was taught as a child that her life was not equal to others …so she deserved to suffer🤷♀️!and that’s horrible!she was forced not to talk and acquired an obligatory trauma for no reason!and she changed her attitude and became 🔥when she realised that her life didnnt matter to saeon at all!and that s when her shift happened and she tried for a divorce and wanted to change her fate!in the process of this phone calls communication she changed her mind because he seemed to try and they started being open to each other!we know sa eon and hui ju loved each other since childhood!and this marriage bloomed when the communication happened!
so the very nice meaning I get from this drama is that even if there is so much love in a marriage or relationship ,if there is no actual communication of thoughts and feelings ,it is destined to fail!also that when you only aim to blind revenge-especially without having all the pieces of info (like park dong Jae)eventually you hurt people that never hurt anyone(saeon and hui ju)and you end up feeling meaningless and deceived !so sometimes we should let bygones be bygones and let the karma do its job for our own mental health and not to harm innocent people!
Now about the second leads :they were pleasant as they didnnt try to seduce one of the main leads although there was clear interest!and I really liked that because I find triangles unnecessary especially in this drama!the chemistry between the second leads was a bit off to me!but maybe because there is a big contrast to the chemistry of the main leads!
A special notice I should make is to the kissing scenes of this drama!I knew they were both excellent kissers(especially yoo yeon seok)but this was the something else!very natural very convincing I must say,very passionate!he was like he would devour her whole face and she matched his energy!🫶🏻🩷for me the hype was well deserved!lastly I would like to say that all the other actors and especially the abductor were great actors and played their roles really well!
I liked the ending and I can’t say there was something that annoying to me that I would drop this drama!
The most annoying characters were sa eon s parents that I think they never loved their child and are definitely themselves sociopaths!
I loved also mr kang and park dong Jae funny competition,and that mr kang really knew how to interrupt all the sweet moments!😅
Yoo yeon seok and chae soo bin I hope you ll collaborate again 💕
