I didnt read the whole reveiew coz i tend to avoid lengthy reviews sometimes but i respect ur review so, no offence.…
Underage character. I'm not sure about the actress age. Though it's implied she might be underage. At any rate, that is a minor issue. The biggest one being that the scene was directed tasteless as it was geared towarda erotism rathet than horrifying (which is what would have been appropriate).
I'd like to thank you for this review, because it saved me from watching any further and being disappointed. I've…
Oh, and by the way, if you only want to check out the transgender story, then it happens on episode 7. It's in a scene where she fights a dude with a lot of tattoos in a club.

To be honest, though the transgender character had a great backstory, it gets covered in one scene and one flashback. Male characters, even one who killed many people, were gjven longer scenes to cover why they became a monster. And of course that motivation had to do with a male friend. And then, that same murderer got to have a crying scene because "he was in pain". Then, further, we get to see him sacrifice himself in one heroic act to save the people he didn't manage to kill...
Oh, but when this same guy was killing people, a girl with a few lines told the ML she would "distract him" so everyone could survive. So here I though, well this girl who has had a few lines BUT at least has a name will get to go out as a noble sacrifice rather than walking through a door, touching a lightbulb or being forced to die (that Femme Fatale) by another guy (Chota) for a guy she doesn't even like (the ML). But hey, she's the bitch, right? The guys are just being good friends calling her selfish because she wants to survive instead of their friend...
But anyways, that one girl who was going to sacrifice herself for the good of the rest? She gets to stand up... And yell a line that makes people look at her while simultaneously killing her via a laser in 3 seconds flat... So of course, she did absolutely nothing useful and got killed just as absurdly as the other girls.
Tbh, i mentioned i might see the second season for the world...but I might end up skipping it altogether. I have mixed feelings about the ending, and the gender discrepancy is a bit much to tolerate. Luckily this show was short, but i kept watching in hopes that they would do right to at least one female character.
I just picked this show up and binged the 5 episodes in two days. This is such a hidden gem! A lot more complexes than I thought, with greatly fleshed-out characters and an amazing plot. And say nothing of the gorgeous cinematography and great choice of OST. Needless to say, I'm a fan!
Ok, so my theory is that Jung Woo (ML) got close to Hye Won (FL) in order to hurt her father; who we now know was instrumental in the White Village Experimentations. As such, I don't think Hye Won was part of those children they experimented upon. After all, her father did not consider those children "human" and therefore would never treat them as well as he treats his daughter.
So part of Hye Won's character arc will be in choosing between the guy she has a crush on and her father. I'm hoping that the romance will not be mushy and instead will end up tragically, as that would feel more appropriate given the tone of the overall show.
If the romance tag is supposed to allude to Hye Won x Jung Woo, it might be that Jung Woo ends up caring for Hye Won despite his plans. But even then, I very much doubt they'll have a happy ending because his character is depicted too dark to go that route.
this review is great and really took the words right out of my mouth
Thank you, I'm glad you agree. I hesitated writing it since everyone seemed to be loving the drama. But as a user, I always look for reviews that detail the good but also reviews that detail the flaws.
Hmmm... Anyone else thinks that this drama could've been wrapped in 12 episodes without feeling draggy?
I think it could've been wrapped in 10. I've been struggling to watch this one ever since it crossed into the second half. I'm sure glad it's finishing next week and that I watched as it aired. I don't think this is a binge-watchable show and, were it not for the break between episodes, I think I would've dropped it already.

Female characters, though, were the worst written. Little more than props and trophies, really.
