I doubt they will do anything to change the history of WS, as they chose a real person instead of a fictional one. So the political results will remain the same while the approach might be different as there were different alliances compared to Chinese princes

When one contender(princes,their uncles etc) becomes king all the nobles,royals,generals etc high ranking citizens who dont get benefit from him will rally behind any other available contender to take him out. This will happen non stop as long as there are contenders left, kings (or someone behind the scenes) will kill active/dangerous competition and take away power from the rest letting them live as long as they dont do anything suspicious( if they do they are exiled or killed)
It was ridiculous that people were throwing stuff at a prince, scarred or not. They don't even plead the king to switch WS, no respect for the king at all. What kind of royal family would tolerate this behavior? If WS really was a monster shouldn't they be afraid he would slaughter them all. Some of the things in this drama are made overly dramatic for idk what reason

I was feeling bad for him a few episodes back as it was his fair chance to be together with the one he loves but he simply does not deserve a non business type of marriage. No wonder GanJing never clicked with him in the past, they have contrasting values.

Because the script did a bad job with not explaining the past connection and the death of the brother for 10 episodes & counting, this makes both HJ and HM's characters actions have no sense. All we get is one line about something happened 10 years ago and the same photo over and over. Still HJ is supposed to be on negative side as a plot device as it seems to be the intention of the writer.
