as someone who didnt like the chinese or the korean version for not adding anything original to the plot I really like this version before anyone starts fighting with me
its an adaptation of the novel and the novel majorly talks about their adult life and very little about their high school and university life literally all the things you people complain about that this version does not have like "oh the fl isnt chasing the ml fl didnt confess in the first 3 mins " didnt even happen in the novel they never said THEYRE adapting the drama open your eyes and watch the intro please godbless

Essence of the characters still remains the same though i do agree its better shown in ep 3 and 4 with Chadjen acting indifferently and Somo being impulsive with her decisions as you could see in the other versions I suggest you stop being on this page and move on and let people who leave positive comments on the show be

But have you considered that with somo they want to take a different approach to the character? In my interpretation i think they show that she still sees him as a friend which is why they didnt do the "i like you" scene that happens in all the other versions to clearly specify that she doesn't see him like that which is why scenes between them come across more friendly than romantic its not "ruining the show" its a different approach
This is also the reason why shes not acting "cute" she fights him gets angry at him calls him out and doesn't fawn over him the way other versions did
No one asked you to watch every single version of the show just cause you liked the original you keep coming here every week and ranting Im just trying to show that theres positive sides to the show through my comments so people who might want to go into the show get both sides of the spectrum

this show is eating in the comedy department I've always thought that a good romcom comes from romance and comedy both I couldnt stop laughing at ep 4 they're doing so well

people say they dont want remakes and get made when remakes are different from the og yall are hating to hate and making no sense please 😂😂

if anything episode 3 really makes it look like t he previous adaptations and was so funny i wasnt expecting the show to make me laugh as much as it did and I love how much chemistry they all have as friends its really annoying when you have a friend group and all their stories are separate so you dont even believe theyre a friendgroup this show doesn't do that and i love the 5 characters together

the show has 2 eps out .... this is a reach

guys trust the show even in the og version I've felt more attached to the characters in their adult life scenes I hope they protray that part well here too

I see what you mean but she doesnt like Tao at all while she has clearly very different feelings for Chad like i mentioned above she doesn't realise theyre more than platonic but she still does all these things for him the essence of the characters remains the same infact its better whether you admit it or not rather than having som chase chadjen and tao chase som

2. I found the korean versions acting the worst tbvh at least with the Chinese lead you could tell when he was mad and he did a good job of showing his emotional and non emotional side

I really like the show so far I think they've taken a different approach to the OG and I think its better here's why:

1. It looks like Som doesn't have a crush on Chadjen and maybe they're going to show it gradually develop though it still looks like she cares about him more than a friend and maybe she can't define it at that age 🤔
Anyway I like this change cause in the OG I always find it ridiculous that she confesses to him and get rejected and proceeds to write him a love letter anyway
Narratively her writing a letter when she supposedly doesn't like him adds an element of the audience realising she likes him maybe in a more than friendly way when she may not know it yet this makes me feel more connected with the character.
2. The second best change is seeing Chadjen clearly having feelings for her too instead of having it all in the end bunched up in a whope seperate episode its always felt underwhelming in comparison to Xiaoxis feelings in the OG for me.
3. They are focusing on friendships and fsmily dynamic more than romance which adds a charm to the show especially when we see these little romance moments peeking in so we can anticipate whats to come

Anyway its still too early too judge especially too early to judge a romcom
Hope the series keeps going in this direction

so excited for this the show looks so similar to the chinese version and i saw someone from production department say they might follow the novel more than the drama gmmtv might make a good adaptation this time
