I see folks bashing CHG when we know the pigeons he sent asking for reinforcements were likely intercepted, so the real question is WHO intercepted them. CGH said he’d put the past behind and reconcile with NH if he got the reinforcement. Yet he didn’t, which led to him losing thousands of troops so I’d see why it strained their relationship even further. I see y’all talking about Nan Heng’s tragic backstory as if CHG doesn’t have one either. He lost his mom, aunt and father. He entered the battle field young yet he remained devoted to SYM. Then again it could just be my SML syndrome talking but they could never make me hate CGH. 😩

Ok but if I was Song Yimeng trying to avoid ending up with Nan Heng and marry Chu Guihong, I would have pushed Song Yiting and Nan Heng together since she knows he takes her as his concubine anyways in the original plot. That’s just me though.

I agree with you. Also it’s clearly explained from the beginning that Nan Heng’s mother came from the powerful Gao family and is not the Empress’s son. I believe whoever was behind the Empress’s death could likely be the real villain of the series.

I’m loving this drama. It’s definitely more lighthearted and comedic than The Princess’s Gambit which I’m also watching. The cast has done a wonderful job and for some reason I’m just drawn to the 2nd ML even tho everyone keeps saying he’s likely the villain. Liu Yuning is handsome but I think Wang You Shuo is more my type. 😂 Currently looking at his other dramas because damn he’s eye candy.
