Something to keep in mind for writers and directors: Don't make the second male lead too loveable

Am I the only one wishing from time to time for the main characters to just live their own lives? After all this grief, no one deserves the other.

They might as well dedicate half an episode for Chul San and Sa Ha <3

Vagabond season 2 died for this piece of crap to be made. :(
I think they'll film another season when the original cast of Vagabond don't have conflicting schedules anymore. Also after Covid-19 is solved.

Start-up writers: I guess we'll end up on the highest rated list in kisskh.

HJP shippers nearing the end of the drama: Not on my watch.

episode 13: I KNEW IT!!! I knew from the very beginning that something was up with Kang Soo Jin! There was really something about her that bothered me throughout the drama. Well, there's still a chance that I'm wrong but I guess I'll see in the next episodes.

I actually love it more because of the comments and all the debate (here on mdl and reddit in particular, I don't…
Sorry, I forgot to mention which platform I've been seeing such comments on. I've been seeing such comments on Facebook and I'm almost certain that the toxic comments I've been seeing are mostly from my country.

I didn't come here to fight. I'm not really active on other social media platforms, and I know for sure that talking to toxic people on Facebook won't get me anywhere good. That's why I shared my thoughts here; because I know that people are much more understanding and have general knowledge and courtesy about dramas.

Seeing all these comments, I didn't realize that people enjoy this drama more because of such debates. That was a fault on my part. But even after reading your comment, I don't agree that I have to be even more open-minded. I know that I sounded arrogant because I called people delusional and biased just because they don't agree with my beliefs and opinions, but that's really how they were. There's a lot of very reasonable and logical constructive criticism here on kisskh, but what I saw just wasn't it. Everything's hard to explain but I trust that you know what I mean -- you've most likely encountered true toxicity on social media platforms one way or another.

Start-up is quite literally like a kpop group with an enormous fanbase. Watching start-up is very enjoyable, and it's highly likely that I'll rate this high. However, reading debate comments on Han Ji Pyeong vs Nam Do San keeps me away from truly loving the drama as a whole.

Let's get things straight, everyone knows that Han Ji Pyeong took the hearts of the majority of the people; he is basically the promotion of Start-up himself. Nam Do San on the other hand has only a handful of supporters and keeps getting bashed. I couldn't care less about who you ship Seo Dal Mi with; everyone is entitled to their own opinions. What disturbs me is that a lot of Han Ji Pyeong shippers are excessively biased and delusional. I'm not sure if it only applies to my country, but regardless, please learn to at least accept facts. I mean, I'm always seeing people saying that Han Ji Pyeong is perfect and has done nothing wrong while Nam Do San is utter trash that is selfish and has done nothing but wrong.

It truly is like talking to a kpop solo stan or someone who stans just one group not knowing anything about other groups. It's like talking to a wall more or less. It would be nice if people thought from a wider/broader perspective; it makes conversations more cultured.

Well, this is my first time ranting on kisskh, and I hope you go easy on me. Peace Out.

Based on pure speculation, it looks like Nam Do San was the one who told Seo Dal Mi the truth (voluntarily or maybe was forced to?). I'm saying this because it can be seen that they were drinking. It's a possibility that Nam Do San abruptly told Seo Dal Mi the truth.

From my point of view (without considering the preview of the following episodes), because of grandma's question, Dal Mi inadvertently distinguished her old pen-pal, Ji Pyung, and Do San, making the "two Nam Do Sans" two separate beings. Because of this, Dal Mi subconsciously understood her feelings towards both Ji Pyung and Do San. Ji Pyung will forever remain as Dal Mi's first love which she appreciates and still chooses over Do San, but as said in the ending of episode 7, she's getting used to Do San and feels excited being with him. This means Dal Mi's feelings for Do San is developing and could someday surpass her feelings for the comfort Ji Pyung gave her 15 years ago.

Remember I said that the "two Nam Do Sans" was now separated into two different beings? This indicates that Dal Mi is no longer attracted to Do San just because of the letters Ji Pyung gave to Dal Mi in the past. Dal Mi has now fallen in love with who Do San really is. At the start of episode 8, Do San asked Dal Mi again what she liked about him, however, she then proceeded to not mention the letters. She told Do San that she liked his hands. This can also be a sign that there are other reasons now why she likes Do San and that her feelings for Do San are no longer bound to Ji Pyung letters.

I hope this sounded a bit convincing, knowing that most watchers of this drama have second lead syndrome. Also, I wish people state their opinions from analyzing certain parts of the actual drama, not just by personal preference. It just seems so uncivilized and toxic seeing comments such as "he doesn't deserve her", "he's a liar", "there's no real connection between them", "it's all fake", "he's cuter, that's why he deserves her" and all those other comments that barely make sense. I love seeing how other people see things from their perspective but please at least try to point things out that could sound a bit convincing. Also, stop being hypocrites. All I see are double standard comments. A lot of comments point at only one of the leads while it can actually be applied to both. Start accepting facts and stop making things a one-sides affair.

So this episode just confirms something and I'm starting to see why the writer needed the lie to last for so long…
I could have never disagreed more. At the end of the day, these are all just our opinions, and we don't have a choice but see this drama through :)
