honestly the acting is one of the few things i'm enjoying about this show. the other older actors aside, which…
As I stated in my original post, I get why he's acting a man-child. I just don't like it, and I really don't think it's well acted. Any other time, CSW is great.
I'm not sure what to think of this series. I'm a huge CSW fan, and I really don't like his characterization. A 40 year old man acting like he's 25. Maybe there's a point to that, and I can kind of see it, but I'm so used to CSW playing more serious/mature roles that this is just a shock. Thank goodness for Tae In Ho, another actor I really like. He and CSW always have a good chemistry.
I am also from California/U.S. --I haven't seen this drama yet , but feel I need to respond to your comment--especially…
I totally understand your point, and while I agree, simply saying, "it's a just a movie" doesn't stop people from thinking that there is some truth to what is represented. In this particular drama, is there any truth to how Americans are represented? I would say yes, there is. It is accurate of some Americans (particularly by those who support the impeached commander in chief). However, it would be more fair to have Americans represented in a more balanced way. Yes we have our a-holes like Trump and his cohorts, but there are plenty more of us who aren't hawkish war supporters. And after what happened today in Iran (I'm angered and I don't understand why the U.S. did such a thing), it legitimized what was represented in this drama.
It's hard to watch a negative representation of the U.S. I get it, and I also agree with it, but still, it is my home. I hope Koreans don't think we're all like this or have the same beliefs as is represented in this drama. Usually I emphasize that I'm Californian because we really are a different culture from the rest of the country, and we do think much differently than those in power in D.C.
I'm getting some serious Cho Seung-Woo vibes from Son Seuk-koo (CSW being my favorite actor). I first saw him in Suits, and then had to check him out in Sense8 season 2. (I had only seen season 1). I'm a total fan, now. And his English is so good with a near-native U.S./California accent. Did he go to university out here?
These are the worst lawyers ever. When they aren’t working to undermine the partners in their own firm, they’re…
The American version is the same way. It really angers me, too, since I am also a legal professional. These "lawyers" would be disbarred in the real world. Their duty is to their client and what they've done is considered legal malpractice.
I've seen the American version of Suits. I really disliked the character of Rachel, the senior paralegal who falls in love with Mike, the fake lawyer. In fact, I stopped watching Suits after season 4 because I was so annoyed by her. At first I thought it was because I felt the actress was lousy (and this was way before she became involved with Prince Harry). I started watching it again after she left the show because, you know, the actress is now Princess Meghan.
Now that I'm watching the Korean version, I really can't stand Kim Ji Na, the senior paralegal and character equivalent of Rachel. I can't stand her for the same reason I hated Rachel. Now I'm realizing that she is just a poorly written character (both American and Korean). I may just have to speed through the episode whenever she pops on screen.
Ms. Hong is a great character much like her American counterpart, Donna.
I had no idea that he was Mr. Im on Mr. Sunshine. I did not recognize him at all. I usually know him by his deep voice, and I'm so used to seeing him play intimidating characters, so to see him in a more animated, comedic character was surprising. He definitely was fun to watch.
By the way, l love the addition of Choi Moo Seong. Another one of my favorite actors.
