that video of them in the ferris wheel at the end was a hint. he promised to show his movie in her theater. I guess he grew up well and they got back together. At least, that's how I interpret it.
I just finished 1988 and it's now one of my favourite slice of life dramas of all time. I gave it a 9 and desperately…
I just finished the drama last night so I want to answer this while it is still fresh in my mind and broken heart lol
1. she needed to move out because law school requires more dedication which they all know. traveling to and from school everyday will take up a lot of time which she could spend studying instead. when deok-sun visited her, she cried because all she was eating was ramen because she has no time to prepare proper meals. did you see their high school set up? This is one of the things that still shock me up to this day despite watching dramas for over a decade. High school students literally go home at 1 am just to study. 2. I believe the Dad was scammed which left them in debt. The person finally decided to pay the debt after many years. If you have a debt, you have to pay monthly which is why their one-income household is suffering. 3. It was a little bit late when Deok-sun realized the importance of studying. Reality slapped her in the face when her dad told her that his only dream is for his children to do well. She got the pushed she needed to study hard and concentrate on nothing else. Which leads us to number 4. 4. The two boys chose friendship over their first love. Which I am glad (and annoyed at the same time lol). Also, it has something to do with Deok-sun's newfound determination in #3. She decided to put all her efforts in studying and going to college putting love aside. 5. They meetup every year for Taek's birthday. They are all busy but they make sure to meet for their dear Taek's special day.
While I love this drama, I could not give it a 10 as well because of Jung Hwan's heartbreak and because Deok-sun and Taek's relationship was set aside for Bora and Sunwoo's. I love them too but I was really waiting for the family's reaction when they found out DS and Taek are dating and I wanted to see their wedding too!
The third one is what ruined Her Private Life for me lol I feel you when it comes to SLS - The Heirs, Who Are You: School 2015, Cheese in the Trap, Cinderella and the Four Knights, Doctor Stranger
Episode 1 and I am hooked! This is my 3rd lakorn. The first two are both historical - Love Destiny and Thong Ek. I am learning a lot regarding Thai culture/tradition.
The FL does not deserve the ML. He did not even fight for her, let alone stop his wife from stabbing the FL (a coward). He clearly lied (why would you marry someone when you are not the one who impregnated her?) I did not wish for a happy ending. It was good enough for me. That kind of ML does not deserve a happy ending.
watched the locally dubbed version as I needed to work while watching lol as a married woman, I love how every "phase" of the movie ended so warmly. on the same note, I hated how they let the cheating part get to the point where he is already on the woman's bed and kissing and groping. they made it look like it was fine since the girl on the next "phase" also went to meet her first love. what I love is the fact that they met by accident. her blind date was supposed to be his friend and she went to the wrong person - destiny!
The FL failed to impress me in Doctor Stranger. I want to watch this for the ML but I'm not so sure because of her. She is very pretty but her acting feels flat to me.
