And you have the moral superiority to define what is right or wrong. and you want all human from all countries to adopt the moral standards and laws you see as the most progressive and the best for humanity.

you are assuming that polygamy or polygyny to be precise, are automically bad and all women involved are always end up in suffering, many monogamous relationship end up in domestic abuse, cheating, and divorce but no one criticize it. I already stated my principle above, everyone can do whatever they want as long as everyone involved are adult, sane and give a consent. so it doesnt matter whether you dont like it or you think it is bad for them if the women in polygyny do it willingly and dont disturb your life, why you feel the need to stop their way of life? there are some ethnic groups that practice polyandry do you want to stop them too? if i interfere with other people life just because i different moral standard or i simply dont like it, it is the same as a religious zealot who impose their religious laws into others.

I am talking about cultural relativism, moral relativism, tolerance and nonabsolutism. everybody should not claim that their moral standard, life values, or social norms are absolute or universal truth. when they see people that have different culture or moral standard they should not call them wrong, uncivilized or barbaric. they should understand that a person's beliefs, values, and practices should be understood based on that person's own culture, rather than be judged against the criteria of another. and they should be tolerant and not forced their moral standard to others.
and my second point is about HISTORICAL ACCURACY, people should accept the reality that slavery, colonialism, imperialism, war rape, torture, burning human alive and many things that many people see as barbaric are essential part of human history. and when they make a historical fiction whether it is set on earth or a fantasy world they should make it as accurate including culture, social conditions and moral standards in the era depicted. Just because people today are soft hearted and cannot accept things human did historically that against their current era moral standard they become a revisionist who created a historical fiction but adjusted to today moral standard to make it more appropriate for modern human that cannot accept historical reality. It's really a turn off!!

@Erodite of course this story is set in a fantasy world, but this fantasy world is clearly based on ancient china. if you want to create a historical period story whether it is real or fantasy world you must pays attention to the manners, social conditions, culture, moral standard and other details of the period depicted. and in this story people can easily kill others including what NQ did, but even the emperor's harem is never shown. this is clearly the author or director or scriptwriter think polygamy is wrong and monogamy is the absolute way. And then they want to force their current era moral standard to a historical period story. i really don't like it, because it inaccurate and unrealistic.
