I believe it's the lighting. In Thailand, we normally only have 3 standard colors for school trousers. It's brown, black and navy blue. Each individual school only have 1 standard color, which means if your school is black, it stays black forever and you won't be able to wear brown or navy blue. Consider this, Li Ming surely was in the same school until he graduated so it's black from 1st episode to the end and it's not something that could easily be mistaken by the arts team and director so I believe it's because of the light.

It took me around 2 episodes to really adjust myself to the pace and its direction. Though I quite enjoyed it from episode 1, I was totally sold around episode 3 or 4. From that point on, I was totally invested and I still am up until now. So give it a try for around 2 - 3 episodes and see if it's your cup of tea. You won't be disappointed at all.
