I sometimes forget this layer to the relationship because of their dynamic, for instance he was the only one that did not boss her around like her former senior colleagues and actually took her opinions seriously + she gets angry at him and voices this anger and also once shouted if I am not wrong LOL so I have a feeling she is not seeing him as the potential crazy controlling boss that will kick her out HOWEVER he is crazy and takes action without consulting her sometimes and really acts dangerously so this is also another aspect.

When she said she was uncomfortable it really hit home lol, because we know she cares a lot about the ML yet having him express his love and sincere emotion for her, feels so strange and overwhelming that she goes on defense mode subconsciously, her body not knowing how to deal with all of this. I really hope they develop this struggle well without dragging it and also I really appreciate how clear and articulate the ML is when it comes to expressing his love and admiration for Mi Seon! I guess that introverted hyper independent girlies do need the extra push ~

Title Family by Choice Spoiler
It started well, but the 10 year gap and the reunion after just fell a bit flat and were underwhelming. I live far away from my home and family and try to go back more than once year, and it always makes everyone so emotional when we have to seperate but feels the best to meet again. When I was a kid it was the same when family members came from abroad, the reunions and goobyes are so vivid in my mind that the way they reunited in the drama just makes me a bit meh. Well, I kinda ignored that part and continued with the show, but expected more anger and emotion from JuWon for not seeing both for 10 years! Especially Sanha who lives like 3h away max by train, he could have lied once about a hospital shift and made a one day visit or a one night stay without any luggage! A more intense reaction that would have kind of explained her feelings towards Sanha. Their relationship just was a bit abrupt for my taste and although they were natural at expressing a couple's dynamic, I still skipped a lot of their moments together because I didn't feel a deep emotional cnx with the characters.
What kept me going till the ending were Haejun and Dal! Dal is such a sweetheart and a reasonable person on top of that. Despite the insecurities she developed from her nagging and unloving mom, she still turned out to be a very kind adult that actually has a grasp on her feelings and wants to change for the better. The moments were she takes care of HaeJun are so sweet, I kind of wanted more of them together. I wanted Haejun to own up to it more, although it was realistic how he didn't feel as strongly as her, I really wanted 'the she fell first but he fell harder' trope to be well executed and their moments to be there. But yeah anyways, the wedding scene at the end was very cute and wholesome a.d the family portraits make me miss my fam so much πŸ₯Ί

At least on my end, since love triangle was easily taken out of the equation, I was expecting scenes to be tense…
I get your point as well!
In any case, thank you for you civil and respectful response. I just recently got into dramas again and I forgot how obsessive people can get with characters/actors, to the point of being rude but I guess they might be still young as well πŸ˜…

The point of my comment was that from reading the comment section (especially after I stopped watching for a bit), things are exagerated and blown out of proportion a bit, which is an opinion like any other that was expressed here. It lead me to believe that FL will spend a lot more time with Ziyu and hurt the ML in very bad ways but it wasn't the case, at least for me, after watching the eps. I understand the concern about dragging reconciliation and a rashed ending which I also don't like much but at the same time I think the difference is that I don't have high expectations of the show and it just tuened out to be fun!
I personally don't know the ML actor, and was drawn in by the FL character since the beginning of the show. I haven't read the novel, but I do understand the concerns about ruining the original story, especially that I read somewhere that the ML longing for the FL during seperation was much more exquisite in writing (which I prefer). This series overall leans more towards comedy I think than drama in certain points (?)
Anyways, to summarize I wasn't talking about anyone's opinion in particular, I just thought, that the comments about certain aspects were a bit exagerated as the show turned out to be bit more light hearted than expected.

And you might be familiar with a concept named JOKE. That's the concept behind those hilarious comments
I said I thought that joke was hilarious and shared it again because it might be burried in the comments. I was not being sarcastic so pls don't be so defensive and have a great day.

You do understand when people use the phrase SHARING A BED what they are actually referring to right??πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Yeah but in this case as you also watched it you know what I mean, let me correct myself and say slept next to her.

Am I too old or too patient? What is with the comments? I rarely log in but this comment section got me STRESSED lol.
I had dropped this around 12th ep I think because playing house was getting long and I had problems with the MLs acting, then picked up at 15, where I thought his role and the emotion display on his part were getting good, and here I am watching ep 26. Seeing all the talk about Ziyu and pathetic ML and shit I was expecting some angsty love triangle. Turns out FL was clear with Ziyu and then went on to do her thing with family and partners she knew for long and that love and respect her πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Girl was assaulted in an ugly way, lost her memory, okay he saved her life but then pretending to be her husband and sharing her bed is not something you forgive the next day so yall pls be careful irl. Anyways saw a hilarious comment saying the ML refused her 3 times when they were married so she be fuming and I thought it was hilarious.
Love he empress she is making me feel hungry at 4AM! Anyways sit back, have fun and enjoy the show!

I haven't written a review in ages but I felt the need to express myself, maybe I could help a younger person look at this from a different perspective. As a 25 YO, I loved this show in all its details from start to finish and objectively think it was extremely well written. I sincerely appreciate the realism because it makes you reflect on your own reality, try to find similarities and differences and eventually learn lessons. Other than the entertainment value you get a push to maybe change something for the better in your life :)

Some of the questions I asked myself watching this were:
When was the last time I dreamt and felt like I was enjoying the journey? Shared beautiful genuine laughter with friends? felt proud of myself and had a clear purpose? How can I work on myself so that I have such a good impact on people?

Although my highschool and university lives weren't as fun and I did not develop relationships as precious as those shown in this drama, it still made me remember sweet moments and regret some other things but most importantly reminded me that I can work on creating precious bonds again!

As some previously answered, this drama is really poetic and movie-like. The dialogue, the writing, the scenery (they shot in various places, I almost could smell the sea), ... I enjoyed it during my weekend and by the end of my weekdays. I saw somebody say that it was like coming home to your significant other every time you watch an episode, and it was kind of like that sometimes. It's not a perfect show, but I fully enjoyed it...

To be more helpful, if you like the slice of life genre and enjoy realistic settings and relatable or interesting characters/dialogues that you can reflect on, give this a chance!

If you are more into eventful shows of any other genre, this might not be for you.

One more remark is that to keep watching past the first two episodes to get a grasp of the atmosphere of the drama since they are mainly introductory.

I would say the forced romance genre, in general, has been annoying. I feel disappointed when
the actual story and the characters get lost in a love not so convincing and lose their charm as actual independent characters...

Title Stranger
Where do I even start... Simply put, this is a great show that is not just a well-written law/mystery/thriller. Stranger explores human connections within society (mainly between coworkers and family members) through a series of well-thought revelations and without pushing the dramatic factor to an extreme extent.
I believe not particularly the story but both the characters and the well-written dialogue are what made it so gripping. There's a big variety of characters that were masterfully brought up to life by the actors. They basically reflect the complexity of human beings in a subtle yet impactful manner.

There were times where I wasn't necessarily impressed by the twists or the way the viewer was lead to think BUT I definitely enjoyed the complexity of this show and couldn't stop watching the whole thing until the end.
Speaking of the end, Stranger has probably one of the best closures I've ever seen. Nothing is left out in the ending and nothing was brought up without being explored which I truly appreciate. Well, I still think there is much more to know about the main leads - who share an exquisite comradeship that leaves you craving for more- which I definitely would appreciate seeing in the second season.

Can anybody tell me at what point does the female lead stop being so naΓ―ve? Or at least become slightly more mature because I am getting a little tired here :c

Very disappointing. This had the potential to be better... much better actually. How so ?
Probably by focusing on actually exploring the dramatic events and circumstances rather than just increasing them in number. It is just misery after misery... The characters changed in an unbelievable fast pace except for our dear female lead who's ... well as uninteresting as ever with her unchanged mindset. I have trouble digesting how things are turning out both event and character wise.

I hope he's not really dead. I don't know I'm okay if we find out he's alive at ep 5 ;-; I'm so sad rn. Also from…
I am pretty sure he's not really dead, mostly missing I suppose. I am curious about how Toko will take the news anyways. I am hoping for a substantial character development on her part... I think Han already left by the time the news were published. It would've been perfect if Han had left for the Philippines instead of Thailand... That way Toko can stay with her and look for Kiyotaka, but hey that's just wishful thinking ...

The second ep was completely a roller coaster! I went through multiple emotions in 40 minutes and was taken by surprise honestly ... The trailer for the third ep also made me anxious... Anyways, I think you could feel what's coming is predictible after all that happened but I am still hoping for more surprises I guess, certainly not heart-wrenching ones though.

I thought so as well, many websites just upload raws before the translation is out. Anyways, obviously everyone's effort is appreciated and translators must get credited for their work.
