Not quite CHhn Bo Lin & Ariel Lin
I watched this at first not realising it was a remake of the fantastic 'In Time With You', the original Cdrama, which I had seen. Yes, all the way back in 2011!! How is it that long ago asgafjajhkaa.
Full disclosure, I am not a Lee Jin-wook fan, and don't find him appealing in romantic roles. He's just NOT it. I can't fathom how he keeps getting cast. Off the top of my head, I kept replacing with other actors that would have been a perfect fit. It's been a hot minute since I've seen Ha Ji Won in a romcom, Secret Garden and King2Hearts anyone? So, had low expectations butwanted to see HJW and I didn't have much background on the drama, then some eps in I was having some deja vu - finally, made the connection that this must be a remake of ITWU. Once I knew this I couldn't help comparing a little but despite this, as it stands on it's own, this drama has some cute retro vibes, but ultimately feels very dated and the cast should have been a little younger, they don't match the characters, so I kept eelign a disconnect. Ha Ji Won is charismatic and there are some heartfelt moments but at times it's all to unrealistic when I remember the role she's emoting!
Now, for Yoon Kyun Sang, he can somewhat pull off the bad boy persona with his cold look but when I recalled Sunny Wang , it was so not giving. I found the voiceover monologues were pointless, if anything they took away from the emotional beats instead.
Is it just me, or is this low budget? This wouldn't have really been so obvious if not for the somewhat contrived storyline here. It was a slog to get through the last half and overall the pacing was off.
