it does have one more couple (in making) good old fl's younger brother x fl's best friend trope. I will be honest…
ok. yeah noona but thats not the problem. fl friend is older. the boy knew her from when he was young and liked her. friend considered him as a younger brother (rightfully bcs of age) and now he is grown and its all about proving that he is not a younger brother to her. friend has an ex-husband in picture too ( there are no lingering feelings he is basically her enemy). but to me the the brother just looks like a young boy (lookswise) and friend looks mature so I cant take this couple seriously. his personality is not strong either. Like I cant even say he is strong or mature for his age. I am probably really biased cus i dont like them so you might aswell see for yourself.

not boring I just dont like the trope. its personally not my cup of tea and I have seen this trope way too often so I am bored of it. They are not focused on much btw.
I understand your disappointment but ML was so gonna sold that hotel to that lady ,which grandma doesn’t want,Even…
he had his own plan. also thats not called being a grey character. he uses his brain which is what is mostly needed in real world but ofcourse dramas will always sell us fiction that emotions are more important. I personally disagree with that. yeah emotions are good but wont make you survive. also the last time she talked to him she was ok with everything and just wanted to keep her old employees.. which is what I find weird. why say those things when her plan was to not give it to him.
I dont agree with grandma decision tbh. she should've given it to both of them. They could've grown together. now obviously YZM is going to help MCH but it sucks that he didnt even get half of it and will still directly or indirectly help the hotel without any gain. also I hate the mother. idc what anyone says but she is just a greedy person who doesnt deserve anything good. I dont think I can even take character development for her either. I just want her to go away somewhere far!
26 eps in and I am loving it so far. I am kinda scared tho we have 14 eps left. shit is probably about to go down. please dont test my huazhi and yanxi too much. I just know they are about too suffer because everything has gone too well for past 26 eps ahhhhh TT
right! I totally agree with you! Do you have any costume drama recs similar to this where the leads are rational…
tbh all the ones I have watched have had there fair share of misunderstandings. that is why this drama felt so refreshing. I think new life begins might be good. I havent fully watched it but it doesnt look like it has too many misunderstandings/revenge plot between the leads. I personally liked fall in love 2021 too. fl is the same. it does have some slight misunderstandings but overall the leads were mature and I loved them. Also I was gonna recommend forever love but its already in your list. its not a costume drama but its underrated considering how good it is so I love to recommend it to ppl XD please do watch it <3
this is so refereshing. in normal cdramas ml identity would've been dragged for too long and would've caused a seried of misunderstandings between the leads. I love how it was the ml who revealed it himself and fl was understanding. she used her brain to process it and didnt blame everything on ml without thinking. They both were rational and mature. I love them. from start they have shown matureness and also understanding for each other which we rarely see in costume dramas. hua zhi was clearly suffering from grief she could've easily thrown a tantrum and blamed yanxi but she chose to not let emotions cloud her thinking. she is my strong queen!
