I gave it 10/10, not a masterpiece but i loved the healthy relationships between ML and FL ...full of green flags 🤩 maybe one of the best i've seen in an costume drama... loved how the respect and the care for one another was as strong as the love they had for each other, no stupid misunderstandings, no idotic self-sacrifice, no momentary stupidity, no annoying over the top innocence... uter perfection ... i wished THIS would become the standard....and the ML telling that he fell in love with her when he saw her holding a dripping heart without flinching ... again...perfection 🥰🥰🥰 that is so her and he loves her for it and in turn she loves him for loving her for it .....aaaaaaahhhh cannot stop being impressed of the mountain of green flags... i want mooore 🥹
Chu Gui Hong ruined it for me, i liked that the story it was funny yet serios but his character made me tooooo angry, and he escaped tooooo easy for how angry he made me... he was simply tooo annoying as a villain, for me he took to much attention from the rest of the story, worse than a pest you cannot kill...

Not here to disrespect your opinion but mybe i could help provide some light on why some fans love it sooo sooo much. ..since it could be one of the main below situations and maybe could be helpful to you in understanding a bit the "craziness for it" ☺️
Note: for anyone reading, below is my personal opinion and observation, please take it as such, it's not meant as an universal truth since I'm totally 101% biased ??
1. a lot / many of the now fans knew the original story beforehand and that gave them a huge advantage at appreciating the adaptation while not trying to wrap heir heads in names, courtesy names, places and sects, they already knew all that and were able to focus on how the emotions were portrayed and how the message was transmitted, which is actually the forte of the original work and drama itself. It was for most of them (including me) a dream come true, like we had in our head all the knowledge on the story, we knew the ending too, so we were already "spoiler-ed" and we could imagine how the characters would behave or look in a specific situation but to actually see the characters alive, each expression that we have imagined played so well, maybe for some even better than expected ....was, together with the visuals and the music, the proof that our loved story received the deserved respect, love and recognition. The message, which in my opinion was the most important, never got lost in the adaptation and they have been fateful at portraying it from ep 1 till the end. I would say, about the ending, that the ones that were huge fans of the BL story were disappointed, because they know what they have been "robbed of" and i was too for a moment but then i realized that given the BL ban, not only the ending but the entire interaction between WWX and LWJ throughout the drama was in result more meaningful than any explicit form of BL behavior. The actors and staff have put tremendous effort in expressing the unlimited love between them with looks, tone of voice and body language and the fans of the novel have seen that and appreciated enormously since it never distroyed the pureness of the love that they expected, although not explicit as wished, it never lost it's meaning, value or beauty so from all aspects, the adaptation, for most of the novel fans, was spot on.
2. Second case would be the fans that just were atracted initially by the genre, reviews or visuals but then got invested in it due to actors, acting or message. Not easy to do and definitely the drama strung some chords for this type of fans - but i couldn't say more since i'm the first category... but i can say from what i have seen that once initially atracted, some of them if not all of them, have become knowledge-hungry and tried to understand as much as possible about everything related to it and then found the profound appreciation for it. From discussing with other fans for cat.2 i can tell you that they either re-watched the untamed multiple times afterwards or they went to read the original story or even both since many of the beautiful details, that make the drama and story the masterpiece we call, cannot be seen at glance.
Note: The untamed fans have created communities and analysed and over-analysed every word and every minute expresion of the actors and so soon afterwards were more and more watchers able to fully understand, respect and love the adaptation to the diserved level (and the novel if not already a fan). We, as fans, have put also our side of effort and time, in answer to the efforts of the cast and staff. It's not easy to fully appreciate it and that is exactly what i personally loved about it. I'm not an easily satisfied viewer and i can of course watch easy shows just for the sake of passing time but seeing the carefulness of the adaptation and the effort that was put in the best way of acting a specific situation /emotions/scene and having known the original work it is impossible for me not to love the drama as much as i love it. I'm not the only one that it is still impressed today by a gif or a short video with a specific look, angry scene or a crying one that we randomly see .. Once we understood the story/acting, the impression of the drama was so lasting and so vivid that years latter we cannot forget or move on from.
In closing, even though i could write probably a book in appreciation, i would say that it is acceptable and understandable for anyone not to like the drama, especially if watching for the first time and/or have not read the original work ... ... Or you could simply just never like it since it doesn't match your taste and that is ok too ... ... Don't put pressure on you to like it since it will spoil the fun ?
Might not be for all but this is top of the top!!! Story is not lacking at all from my point of view since it's fulfilling on all levels. It's full of life lessons, most important one beeing the title. It's a all around healing journey for the characters that learn to truly live their life with all the good and bad cards that the destiny has dealt them. Acting couldn't be better, main cast and supporting actors alike and cinematography and sound is the best i've seen in a drama, complements the script to perfection. Has funny moments that make you laugh with tears and has sad moments that make you cry your heart out. Overall could not be better and i'm feeling empty that it ended and that it will be really hard to find another such excellent drama in the future that will make me have again all the feels that i got from watching IOTNBO, it raised my bar really high...crazy high to be onest ...

It's now number 3 on MDL (hope it will only increase because they deserve it) and I really wish that the cast and staff will take notice of how much the international fans are LOOOOVING this show so they won’t be discouraged by critics from the Chinese and Taiwanese fans
