Everything is good… Except the Romance
It starts off incredibly strong. The opening episodes are gripping, and it genuinely feels like you’re about to watch something dark, emotional, and unforgettable. The atmosphere pulls you in right away, and for a while, it really delivers on that promise.
Where the drama shines the most is in its cinematography, music, and casting. Visually, it’s stunning—moody, cinematic, and very fitting for its tone. The OST also does a great job of building atmosphere, and the actors are well chosen for their roles, especially when it comes to portraying intensity and emotional weight.
However, the biggest issue comes with the romance, which is meant to be central to the story. Unfortunately, it never really works. The chemistry between the leads feels flat, and instead of enhancing the emotional core of the plot, it ends up weakening it. Because so much of the story ties back to their relationship, this becomes a major drawback that affects the overall impact of the drama.
On the brighter side, the antagonist is one of the most compelling parts of the series. In fact, he end up being a key reason the story stays interesting until the end, which says a lot about how strong that character’s presence is compared to the main emotional arc.
The ending also feels a bit underwhelming. After such a strong setup, it doesn’t quite land with the emotional weight or satisfaction it seemed to be building toward, leaving things feeling a bit blend.
Overall, it is a visually strong and atmospheric drama with great ideas, but it falls short in the emotional execution—especially in the romance.
Verdict:
A beautifully made drama with strong atmosphere and acting, but a weak central romance and a disappointing ending hold it back.
Rewatch Value:
Low — around 3/10, only if revisiting specific moments or the antagonist’s storyline.
