I'm disappointed a little bit. I'm not a shipper that's why I pay attention to the plot holes and draggings. The actress playing Park Chung Jo is doing better job than the lead actress (who is beautiful but too cutesy, she moves like a bale of potatoes). But Lee Seung Gee is not bad, he and his character's dad save the show.
So, this drama is good (not low budget, talented cast, interesting writing) but it is mostly about politics and plotting. If you are looking for a sweet romcom with great chemistry among the leads -- this one is not for you.
In Faith - the evil sect, In Queen Seomduk - the plot where the lead is not going to hide but shows everybody that she can't be killed as a usual person
The story told is quite realistic (if not paying attention to the time travel plot and slapstick jokes). A noble lady locked in harem but neglected by her husband doesn't know what to do. She harasses other women a little bit, then she intervens the power struggle. But when her husband begins to treat her as a woman she too gradually agrees to become loving wife and mother. As to her husband, the story about how a man after being too cold falls in love with his own wife is not new too.
One of the main reasons I was about to watch this drama was because I thought the FL would be strong and such...…
Well, you should give it a try if you want a story about harem women envy with gorgeous costumes. As to your question, Korean Queen Seonduk is a good story about smart female politicians (lots of power struggle and very little romance); Empress Ki is about the strong female's rise to the power (but she is even too strong and clever).
The hero’s life (with his guerilla warfare and his new -founded partisan state) sometimes resembles comrade Mao Zedong 's or comrade Kim Il Sung's ones.
So, the 1st episode is dragged, the ending is rushed and shortened. But don't drop it in the 1st ep (it merely explains why the characters receive their karmic payback later), cause the story arc from ep. 3 to 22 is very good.
> Queen Won Gyeong, also known as Queen Dowager Hudeok, was born as Lady Min Da Kyung,
Sorry, but Da Kyung is a first name imagined for her by the Six Flying Dragons screenwriters. In fact, only her surname (Min) is known (see https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q6853912). Also she never led any coup single-handedly. Please. don't learn history from TV-dramas :)
