I think you're thinking in a more mature way, than most. A lot of people who watch these dramas don't really think…
You're proving my point. You're being nasty. You're a bully. You jump onto other people's comments and try to fight them. I'm pointing this out to you. You engage people in bad faith. You're not a good person. I will absolutely block you and I will also report you.

The irony here is that you, @ninjarette, are a bully. You are insulting and infantilizing everyone who dares to enjoy this drama, and you're basing your criticism in real-life-"if this happened to me"-logic. Newsflash: consumers of fiction don't actually want these things to happen to them in real life. You should know better.

So there's a lot of complex reasons why women engage with regressive, problematic narratives. This story holds…
Yes! Female power fantasies often have heroines who knowingly deal with the beast - they're not being fooled or taken advantage of. The heroines in these stories are smart, capable, express their own agency, and often experience a sexual awakening because they own their own bodies and don't allow the beast in except on their own terms. It's quite literally about taming the beast inside yourself because the beast often represents the woman's animus.

Bright's acting is AMAZING and I'm all here for it ❤️❤️
agreed. I'm actually surprised at how critical people are being, although "bad acting" has never actually bothered me. I think I can see past it if the actor or character is endearing enough, and Bright / Thyme certainly is, both character and actor are incredibly endearing.

So… Apparently a lot of you like it. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the same way. I just felt like this kind of…
totally subjective, but I think subtlety is for the weak. there's so much symbolism and metaphor throughout. I feel respected as a viewer, but also so appreciate them being honest and transparent with what they're telling and how they're telling it.
