I guess because she's the wife of his uncle, who's the same age as he is?
Ah, thanks for correcting me. I've no knowledge of the Korean language, so I guess my comment was uninformed.

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
I'm only 2 episodes in. This is making me roll with laughter. Its so stupid but you can't stop watching šŸ˜‚
It gets better once you start getting engrossed in the development of their relationship over the phone and more truths slowly start coming up.
The presidential spokesperson becomes seemingly not so busy and the whole over the top setting just kind of fades into the background šŸ˜‚

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
The thing that Real Paik Sa Eon whispered to Fake Paik Sa Eon must be regarding on his father Paik Jang Ho's cause…
But wasn't the real Paik Da Eon the one involved in the car accident and why the grandfather decided to get rid of him once and for all?

Why does real Sa Eon keep calling HHJ "older sister" from female level?
I guess because she's the wife of his uncle, who's the same age as he is?

The way he reacted when he saw Sa Eon during their confrontation kind of implied that he was genuinely scared…
Chief Kang can be pretty dim and act inappropriately - like when he faked an emergency to bring SE to the office on his day off. One can only wonder how he got the position.

Then again, that's exactly why I wouldn't be too surprised if he isn't innocent. Unlike Assistant Park, he wasn't at the office at the time of the explosion.

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
the only things that make me stop thinking of Sang U as accomplice, is that he never wants to hurt Hui Jo and…
Yes, think he found out she could speak then.
I'm not really liking Sang U's character from the start. He's usually only friendly with HHJ, otherwise always acting arrogant and nonchalant... SE also sees him as a suspect, thinking it needs to be someone close to them, but actually I don't think he fits the bill. He isn't very close to them, just coincidentally showed up when things began and is someone who actually knew the real son when they were kids but aren't in touch anymore?...
Surely he couldn't be the one who pushed HHJ from the cliff.

But anyway, the drama is still just a bit more than halfway done, such possibility is still on the table.

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
So Saeon is definitely an imposter. For a minute there I thought Sangwoo was the real son just by his reactions…
I think he explained the main reason and it wasn't that - he married her to give her freedom from her own family and to finally allow her to make her own choices.
He knew she didn't like him then and didn't want to force her into behaving like a real wife, so he masked his true feelings and acted like he didn't like her either. He was somewhat content with that arrangement until finding out she wasn't happy at all and felt trapped in their marriage just the same.

The fact he isn't the real son is more relevant now after they become a real couple, for now he's not just a tool to her freedom.

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
HHJ only fell for him at the time he publicly acknowledged her as his wife, in front of the two policemen? Really, so late in time?? Somehow I find that rather disappointing. Why act so outraged then? She's clearly someone with a self-discipline of steel used to being invisible, treated like crap by her own mother and step-sister her whole life, yet somehow the indifference of the ML was more hurtful - when she didn't care about him either?!...

I think he felt jealousy. He should be in that position, but know he known for the fishy smell, but BSE smell…
Yes, that was it, nothing to do with BSE's male pheromones or anything. One of them is clean, uses expensive shampoo and other cosmetics, wears order-made clothes and luxury items, the other lives a humble live cutting fish, even though he's the real son.

Took me a while to find this title on the site since on my Netflix it’s known as Beating Again, and I think on the web also as Fall in Love with Soon-Jung.

On Radio Romance Dec 1, 2020
In my opinion, this drama is so overrated. Had they only focused on the radio environment, it had been great, but they decided to go overboard instead and just turn the two leads, particularly the male, into the biggest victims in the world. It may be somewhat popular with teenagers, but not for my age bracket anymore...

I’ve started watching another drama where the female lead stars again, Love Alarm, and that’s apparently another victimization drama, same overall pattern.... The poor leads just can’t find kindness in this cold world.

Title Accidentally in Love Spoiler
I felt like this was a sort of spin-off of Hana Yori Dango except that in a college setting and the female lead had more going for her. It was surprisingly entertaining and easy to watch, despite it targeting a younger audience and also dealing with a few serious issues along the way like death, blackmails, suicide, etc.
It’s funny how it was obviously about romance and the pains that go with it, yet at the same time friendship, loyalty and acceptance of people as they’re also shone through.

I was particularly fond of the second leads’ romance. Although those scenes were simple and short enough to be done by beginning actors, I think the story behind it was well thought. In the end, I guess we cannot really pin point the moment these two characters started liking each other romantically. Maybe it was while being kind and friendly towards each other, maybe they were already drawn to each other even before they were officially introduced. Fangfang was quiet and many times a scared rabbit, but maybe it was her unconditional loyalty (friendship) that gained the respect of Yiyang, or maybe it was just because she greeted him properly in the pool and always saw him for him.
Ironically, it was Situ Feng’s words and song to Qingqing ā€œI want to be your loveā€ that seemed to trigger Yiyang into letting go of the past and finally stepping up to the plate and ā€˜officially’ starting pursuing Fangfang.
Oh well, I wanted to see a bit more of this couple. If anyone has other similar drama recommendations, please do :)

Is there romance in this? or season 1?
There’s no romance in season 1 and I don’t think there will be in season 2.
This is basically a remake of the American version, if it serves as a reference.

I really like Viki's subs better too. I love how they add cultural references about why the characters said or…
Viki offers many more titles abroad, hence I always thought it is originally a western company. I may be wrong, but here in Japan like 98% of Viki's few titles are Chinese dramas and movies. No kdramas nor jdramas at all.
It's like a desert compared to the US version of the site.

I always thought it's not illegal to watch if the title isn't licensed in your country.
Other people say any kind of download is illegal. A slippery rope.
Even books, sometimes you cannot buy an ebook from a different country due to "copyright infringements", but you can buy a physical copy and have it sent to you... I just don't get it.

I was not a subscriber given that their service wasn't available in my country, but this sudden shutdown seems incredibly unprofessional to me. Given that even unpaid fanbased groups give such notices well in advance, it makes it seem like they were just cut off for doing something illegal.
So much for the loyal subscribers.

↑ Exactly my thoughts. There are societal differences, but also the Japanese industry (not only filmography but also music industry) hasn't been updating itself like the Korean. They're stuck in the "safe zone".
