My only problem is - why say that out loud to the PM, When he is not even the King yet???When he knows that PM…
At first, I thought that I-An shared his plan with the PM just to sell this idea to him. If the monarchy is abolished, the PM becomes the sole head of state in South Korea, so he can fulfill all of his ambitions. But seeing how he started talking about defending the Crown and yada yada yada, I realized I was wrong //but also the script lacks political accuracy IMO//
can you please explain why? was there some controversy or scandal he was involved in?
Oh, I thought there was something recent :) I guess if casting him was an actual liability, he wouldn't get any parts anymore. As far as I understand the cultural aspects here, he would have been canceled and wouldn't be able to act in South Korea again if those controversies or allegations hadn't been dealt with. But I completely understand your sentiment here.
I'm 32 and watched this drama with my mom who's 60. I'm pretty sure it hit us in different ways, and this is why…
My mom watched it alone first and then recommended it to me. Actually, she kept reminding me of this series over and over again, so I gave in two weeks ago :) And in every single episode I could find a lot of reasons why my mom wanted me to watch the series so much. Sometimes it felt like the writer was actually eavesdropping on my family or watching us very closely when working on the script. Some dialogs were way too similar to the ones I had with my mom. Humble beginnings of my parents, my dad choosing my mom over his family, me being a responsible big sister to a younger brother (who can be a real pain to my family), and so much more. I’m 31, my mom’s 56, and it’s such a perfect drama for the two of us to have watched. I’m so grateful for all the emotions and self-reflections this series has brought to me. And I’m glad that it can help lots of daughters and mothers all over the world to connect with each other better — all thanks to this drama.
