They could have chosen 1001 ways to show her excitement but they chose to include her blurred tatas (not that big of a deal but why zoom in afterwards?) Please rewatch that scene, you will notice that the execution was weird as hell.
It is a beautifully written and produced drama. That aside, just a personal opinion but Lee Dong Sok is a massive massive red flag. Now I know that his life circumstances made him the way he is but at some point one has to choose to not be defined by their circumstances. It is very difficult but not impossible, it can be done. His unresolved anger issues, his jealousy, impulsiveness (he almost beat his friend to death). He really did love Min Seo Ah but wasn't the right fit for her or any other woman/relationship at that point. It might seem rosy and romantic at the beginning but those issues will always come up as he has lived with them his entire life without resolving them.
I'd like to say something about all those many comments about the first episode with the ML going to Africa. I…
As a Kenyan currently in Nairobi I respect your opinion but I think people are justified in calling out the drama for its portrayal of Africa. My personal feelings aside why did they keep referring it as Africa? Every single time. Not a country, not a city, just Africa. It is a gross generalisation of the second largest continent in the world with 50+ countries and so many cultures. ML lead went to Africa to 'volunteer'. There is no water in Africa yet in a funny irony the trees beside the borehole were very green and lush. I might be in my feelings but it really doesn't correctly potray the reality of the majority of the continent. People who have no clue will take the drama at its face value and affirm their biases about Africa. At the very least they should have specified where or even better yet just left it out of the plot instead of streotypically using an entire continent to romanticise a fictional character 's morals.
The way he looks at her...If a man looked at me like that I would probably drown in my own spit because I would forget to swallow๐ . It is a great drama and the actors have great chemistry. The last few episodes didn't live upto the standard set at the beginning but it is still worth it.
I was hesitant to watch it due to the not very positive reviews but after watching it in its entirety, I am glad I gave it a chance. The main leads had such great chemistry, I know that is said a lot but the main couple had such natural synergy despite all the drawn out suffering they had to endure. That aside the ending was a bit rushed. They made such a big deal of the incident so when they chose to wrap it up in the last episode it felt like it was brushed over almost as if all that over the top reactions were unnecessary to begin with. If despite all this you like romance or watching two people love each other unconditionally you should give it a chance.
Unpopular opinion but the romance between the lead couple is meh. The second leads have lesser screen time yet their chemistry surpasses that of the main couple by a mile.
I for once do not agree nor understand the poor ratings. The Go Jin and Shin Ah dynamic is elite, they are constantly at each other's throats and go against the usual enemies to lovers trope. They really do resent each other and little mercy is shown on either side. It is quite refreshing as weird as it sounds. The suspense build up is good too. All in all it deserves better.
Deok Im is the queen of self love lol. That aside the push and pull between the main leads is getting so monotonous and frustrating. I know that is how the characters are meant to be but goddamnit just get together or not already.
The only way I have been able to stomach this drama was by skipping a few scenes and an episode or two. I kept hoping it will get better but I guess that was an overestimation
