I think, maybe, they make up after Ran Ran gets held hostage by some terrorists, and A Zan gets beat badly trying to rescue Ran Ran (according to the clip / MV I’ve seen from the trailers) (if it's the usual cliché storyline used in most Chinese dramas.). Not that the cliché plots are bad, but would be nice if they got made up sooner.
Before A Zan was due to leave for his voluntary work, Ran Ran found out about his application through Shen Bei when she called Ran Ran to ask if Ran Ran is going to Dong Guo with A Zan because Shen Bei had seen A Zan's name on the list of volunteers who will be arriving in Dong Guo soon. Ran Ran and A Zan then had an argument a day or so before A Zan got on the plane.
A Zan applied as a volunteer and didn't tell Ran Ran, then after A Zan got on the plane and left, Ran Ran text him and said "do me a favour, don't contact me anymore"
