One thing that contributed was that many people who had weibo were making direct and biased translations of all the absurd rumors and saying the crazy things without caring whether they were claims that could be verified or whether they were fabrications, whether the messages were forged or not and ignoring how the fandom fights there are insane and that it's not appropriate to drag actresses and make them pay for everything.
It became a snowball when you put it together with what you scored, they didn't separate the actor from the character, they decided to truly believe that the actress and the character were one.
I think VOS will be calmer in this regard. Already on the FoF page, many were nervous and complaining about not being able to speak ill of the actress freely because someone always appeared to defend her 🤣
