There are so many actresses I would love to see work with Park Seojoon! This brief description makes me think of Jeon Yeobin (♡), Shin Hyesun, Lee Sunbin, Choi Sooyoung, or Nana.
I adore Lee Jae Wook but I never like the Hong Sisters’ dramas. I know their projects give up-and-coming actors positive exposure, but I won’t want to watch it. 어떡해요?!
Best Picture: “Beyond Evil” Best Actor: Lee Joongki in “Flower of Evil”, Shin Hakyung in “Beyond Evil”, or Song Joongki in “Vincenzo” Best Actress: Shin Hyesun in “Mr. Queen” Best Supporting Actor: Choi Daehoon in “Beyond Evil” Best Supporting Actress: Cha Chunghwa in “Mr. Queen” Best New Actor: Lee Dohyun in “18 Again” or Song Kang in “Sweet Home” Best New Actress: Choi Sungeun in “Beyond Evil”
Should I watch this then the currently airing series?
This is might be too late, but if you are committed to watching the airing series, I advise watching this adaptation after you finish that one. I wanted to refresh my memory on key events in the story so I foolishly rewatched clips of this version and, to be brutally honest, the new series suffers by comparison.
I don’t know about this drama. It seems…awkward? The dialogue and situations (especially with the main couple) are not interesting and seem a bit too forced. Plus, I really don’t like manic pixie dream girls. I’m going to put it on hold and see how everyone feels about it after more episodes have aired.
If you are searching for other unique dramas, I recommend trying “Into the Ring,” “The School Nurse Files,” or a recent horror/thriller drama (e.g. “The Cursed,” “Flower of Evil,” “The Guest,” “Kingdom,” or “Strangers from Hell.”)
“There are pieces that don’t feel like my own. I desperately want to make them mine, but they’re that much harder, so I want to feel and play something easier. But even if you run away, it doesn’t change anything. The thirst for the piece you let go only increases, and eventually, you feel tormented and miss it.” — Park Joonyoung
I hope this isn’t a metaphor for his relationships with Songah and Jungkyung. I’m anxious this quote foreshadows the “da capo” alluded to at the end of episode twelve.
Sigh. It seems like Joonyoung wants to like Songah romantically, but is unable to move on from Jungkyung. Meanwhile, Songah struggles with what to do after graduation and feeling inferior. I feel like the latest episode is setting us up for bitter disappointment. Unfortunately, I have started to believe our leads will end up with their first love interests.
Watching mostly forJi Chang Wook, but the premiere didn't impress me at all. Mostly because I am pretty tired…
I am so disappointed! When this drama was announced everything seemed promising. However, the first episode is a fail for me. If there is one drama I hate, it’s “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” and this drama is already echoing a lot of the sophomoric humor of the former. I hope it abandons some of the ridiculousness, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say my expectations have already plummeted.
