Title The King’s Avatar Spoiler
I should have checked tag sooner. I wasted so much time on this drama turned out there is no romance.
In the novel, there was a character in an opposing team that has a major crush on Tang. His whole team knows and teases him whenever they compete. I wonder if they'll include that in the drama?

I totally agree! I have been looking forward to this one and Go Go Squid for like over a year. Go Go pleased me…
To each their own!

If I hadn't read the novel then I might have liked this. The idea of expanding on what happens within the internet…
I totally agree! I have been looking forward to this one and Go Go Squid for like over a year. Go Go pleased me where this one really disappointed me. I have read the novel, manga, and watched the anime. I just finished rereading the novel yesterday just to make sure I wasn't mistaken about things, but the show completely slaughtered the story.

If I had only ever watched the drama, it would have been fine. The cast (except Chen Guo), graphics, and locations are great. It's not that I didn't like the actress because I looked her up, and she can look very pretty. Whoever in charge specifically made her hair and clothes look just plain awful. I feel bad for her because in the novel she's a beauty. For some insane reason, they made her look like a bag lady who didn't even know how to use something like conditioner or mascara. However, for anyone who has read the story, it just pales in comparison and actually takes away from the amazing work that the author created.

Ye Xui was made to look like an air head who couldn't even change a light bulb while Chen Guo was out smarting him. In other words, they completely flipped their roles/personalities. They unsuccessfully combined different characters into one. Most of the time is just spent wasted in the cafe instead of in the game which is 90% of the story. My biggest problem is that major parts of the story were just left out and instead they just made up random bs to replace them when the original would have still been better. The timeline is all over the place, and I don't feel like some things were explained well or at all unless you're a gamer or read the novel.

I understand that this is a drama, so I can make consessions for them focusing on more physical world interactions and making up past histories for different characters. The novel allows that because those parts are vague. However, I can't condone keeping the bare bones of the story and then just randomly doing whatever in the heck you want with the rest. That's the plot!!!

Ye Xui is a brilliant and street smart gamer whose so op that he's a force of nature in not only the game but the real world. This show had him brought down by a light bulb. I just can't... It's too disrespectful to the amazing author who created this brilliant work. Instead, I recommend the novel which is almost completely translated into English and the anime which goes by the book. The second season of the anime is supposed to start in like a week or so I believe. Sadly, I now wish that this drama was never made because it's a disgrace.

I haven't been this disappointed since I stayed up to watch the midnight showing of the first Harry Potter movie. Heartbroken... Another adaption done poorly.

It's surprising to see how big the e-sports industry has grown in such little time. This isn't related to this…
He was just on Jimmy Fallon talking about it. That kid who won 3 mill from playing Fortnite was just on too.
