You know, after your comment as to where I watched it, Playtime, I checked it again. Ep 1 was available, but it turns out to be exactly the same as Joy of Life. It has been so long since I saw it (Joy of LIfe), I didn't recognize ep 17, but as soon as I saw ep 1, I recognized it. I think YouTube screwed up, and they are passing off Joy of Life and The Fated General as the same series, without knowing it. My fault. I should have checked it out more thoroughly in the beginning before I posted what I did. I hope I didn't get everyone excited. Also, Li Jun Xian couldn't have been in The Fated General because he didn't make his debut until 2018, and The Fate General was in 2017. My apologies to all.
I just randomly watched ep 17 of The Fated General, and I loved it. I will probably watch the whole thing, but the reason I liked it, besides Zhang Ruo Yun, was Li Jun Xian/Shen Li, who I first saw in Moonshine and Valentine. However, I did not see him in the list of credits of actors. That seems odd since he never leaves the side of the main character, Huo Qu Bing. THIS SHOULD BE CORRECTED.
My guess is that, as already stated, these two additional episodes happen at the beginning or middle of their relationship. There is not a lot of info on the beginning of the two of them other than that montage of skating, running around, and playing. This would have to be pretty early in their relationship because it has already been established that Liang Ze spends all of his money on drinking parties, so it is no surprise when he asks Hang Hang for money to buy shirts. He admits he is all out of money. Hang Hang says he is too, and he is obviously upset cause he knows why Liang Ze is out of money. And, this has to have taken place before Hang Hang's best friend, Qi Ji, wants to take them both out for a meal because the waiter is the same guy who waits on them when Liang Ze challenges Hang Hang to go out drinking. That is why Hang Hang says he knows that waiter from somewhere but can't remember because they were both so falling down drunk that night. I think I would like to read the novel if I can find it in English. I just LOVE this series, and am so unhappy they broke up. But, GuHaiBa (below, in a spoiler) states that there is much more of their relationship, and they end up happily together.
